PowerGo, in collaboration with PowerField, has launched a unique ultra-fast charging station in the Netherlands, featuring a 240 kW charger combined with a 600 kWh battery. This solution addresses grid congestion and provides EV drivers with 100% solar energy. To celebrate, EV drivers can enjoy a 20% discount on charging until July 31.
Key Highlights:
- PowerGo’s Ultra-Fast Charger: Located at Restaurant De Zingende Wielen in Den Oever, North Holland, the new 240 kW fast charging solution is designed for EVs and integrated with a 600 kWh battery storage system.
- 100% Solar Energy: EV drivers charge with 100% solar energy sourced from PowerField’s solar parks.
- Grid Congestion Solution: The battery storage system addresses grid congestion issues, temporarily storing energy for later use and relieving the electricity grid during peak times.
- Accessibility: The charging station is conveniently located for travelers to and from Texel island and international traffic, easily accessible from highway A7.
- Charging Capacity: Since March 2024, two EVs can charge simultaneously with a maximum of 240 kW.

Smart Energy Storage Solution
In response to severe grid congestion in North Holland, where transport capacity is limited and wait times for connections can extend up to four years, PowerGo’s solution enables fast charging with a 600 kWh battery. This innovative approach allows about ten Volkswagen ID.3s to be fully charged without relying on the electricity grid, easing demand during peak periods.
Chief Technology Officer of PowerField and PowerGo, Ivo van Dam, stated, “To continue supporting the energy transition, innovative solutions are needed. With PowerField, we provide the generation and storage of solar energy… We are therefore extra proud that, despite the grid congestion in North Holland, we were able to realize a unique fast charging solution.”
Sustainable Fast Charging with Discounts
PowerGo’s dynamic pricing model offers fair and transparent charging prices based on the hourly electricity price, encouraging EV drivers to charge when more and cleaner energy is available. This approach not only benefits the environment but also reduces costs for consumers. The PowerGo Charge app provides access to these dynamic prices.
To commemorate the launch, EV drivers can charge at De Zingende Wielen with a 20% discount until July 31. More information about the discount is available on PowerGo’s website.
