The new 29,000-square-foot facility, located in Danville’s Cane Creek Centre industrial park, represents an $8 million investment by RBW EV Cars. Secured through a deal with the State of Virginia in late 2024, the plant will assemble RBW’s Roadster and GT models, tailored with left-hand drive configurations for American drivers. This marks a major milestone in the company’s North American expansion.
Beyond vehicle production, the Danville site will house Spirit EV, RBW’s proprietary electric powertrain technology. This scalable system supports other automakers and specialty builders, with research, design, and engineering teams based at the facility. This positions Danville as a key player in advancing electric vehicle innovation.
The plant is set to create numerous jobs, led by Peyton Sellers, a NASCAR veteran overseeing U.S. operations. Sellers noted, “We are not only generating jobs, but we are also creating a new automotive hub for the industry to lean in on.” Locally and nationally, this development strengthens Virginia’s automotive sector.
Looking ahead, RBW plans to unveil new product initiatives in Fall 2025, reinforcing its commitment to the North American market. CEO Peter Swain highlighted the dual R&D facilities in the U.K. and U.S. as a boost to their global capabilities.
Founded in 2017, RBW EV Cars blends British design with modern electrification, crafting vehicles from the ground up. Spirit EV complements this by offering modular powertrain solutions. For more details, visit RBW EV Cars.
