Renault 5 SmartMode Replaces the Multi-Sense Button
SmartMode selects Eco, Comfort, or Sport based on how the car is being driven. Renault says the system can call up Sport mode’s sharper responses when the driver accelerates to pass another vehicle, then return to Eco as speeds drop through a town or village.
Drivers can still choose a mode manually through the OpenR Link touchscreen or by voice command. Because SmartMode handles more of the selection automatically, Renault has removed the dedicated Multi-Sense button from the steering wheel.
Qi2 Charging, 4G/5G eCall, and Google Gemini
The new wireless charger uses the Qi2 standard with magnetic alignment and active cooling. The company says the cooling helps prevent overheating and makes charging more effective.
The eCall emergency system has been upgraded for compatibility with newer 4G and 5G mobile networks.
Google’s Gemini AI assistant arrives as an optional over-the-air update to Google Assistant within the OpenR Link system. According to Renault, Gemini lets occupants speak naturally and hold an interactive conversation, including interrupting an answer or switching languages partway through.
New Colors and Personalization
Two new paint shades, Flame Red and Shadow Grey, join the palette later this year. New sticker packs will arrive at the same time. Midnight Blue on techno+ and iconic five+ now comes with a contrasting red roofline.
Inside, iconic five+ replaces its previous yellow upholstery with a mottled blue design. Other trims receive minor upholstery and stitching revisions.
