Renault Dominates AutoEV Awards 2025

Renault has kicked off 2025 in impressive fashion by securing four awards at the AutoEV Electric Car of the Year Awards. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric emerged as a dual winner, claiming the titles of “Best Urban EV” and “Viewer’s Choice.” Designed with urban drivers in mind, this affordable vehicle under £30,000 combines retro aesthetics with modern functionality. AutoEV Creative Director Charlie Hutton noted, “The new Renault 5… shows how retro can be done right… Renault’s design team shows that desirability is now a word that can be used around electric vehicles.”

The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric added to the brand’s achievements by earning the title of “Best Mid-Sized Family EV.” AutoEV Editorial Director Bryan McMorran highlighted Renault’s ability to balance family-focused design with cutting-edge electric technology, stating, “The fact that it also happens to be a superb electric car… is just an added bonus.”

Renault’s sustainability efforts were spotlighted with the “Innovation Award,” recognizing the company’s focus on eco-friendly practices. With a commitment to producing vehicles in France using recycled materials and ensuring its production facilities achieve carbon neutrality by 2025, Renault sets a high standard for sustainable manufacturing. McMorran emphasized, “This type of commitment… benefits the environment… the consumer, by the way of cheaper electric vehicles.”

Renault Dominates AutoEV Awards 2025

The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is available now starting at £22,995 OTR, offering five versions across three trim levels. Buyers can choose between a 40kWh battery for urban driving or a 52kWh battery with a range of up to 253 miles.

The Scenic E-Tech electric offers more expansive features, including a choice of two battery packs—60kWh or 87kWh—providing up to 379 miles of range. Its innovative design includes a Solarbay opacifying glass roof and versatile rear armrest storage, making it a practical choice for families.
