Rivian and iKamper have introduced the Skycamp 4.0 DLX rooftop tent in two sizes, priced from $4,800 for the R1T-fit Duo and $5,050 for the Trio. The Trio size is new to the range, covers the R1S and the midsize R2, and sleeps up to three. Both tents are built on iKamper’s redesigned Skycamp 4.0 platform and are available now through the Rivian Gear Shop, which directs buyers to iKamper.com to complete an order.

What Changes on the Skycamp 4.0 Platform
The redesigned platform opens up the interior without increasing the tent’s footprint on the roof, according to the companies. The changes include additional headroom, larger doors and windows, and a bigger skylight.
The shell uses iKamper’s BreathWeave high-density polycotton canvas, which the company says holds up against rain while remaining breathable enough to limit overnight condensation. Beneath the sleeping area, the Cork ThermaSeal floor system — introduced with the Rivian edition — combines a honeycomb aluminum base with an insulating cork layer to reduce cold transfer through the floor.
Two hardware features are also new for iKamper. The HC Staircase builds steps directly into the ladder rather than adding them as a separate accessory, which the company positions as an aid when climbing down in the dark. The second is the tent’s onboard electrical system.
How Does the Tent Draw Power?
An electrical junction box carries power from a compatible 12-volt source — either the vehicle or a portable power station — straight to the tent’s lighting and to its USB-A, USB-C and 12-volt outlets. The arrangement removes the need for standalone battery packs or a separate cable run to a lantern. Interior and exterior lighting is independently dimmable, with white, amber and red settings.
Sizing, Weights and Pricing
The Duo remains the R1T configuration, while the Trio extends the line to the R1S and the R2. Both sizes are offered with no mattress or with the 3-inch RTT Comfort LT Mattress, which ships with iKamper’s AirDown Go rechargeable pump.

The Skycamp 4.0 DLX is available now through the Rivian Gear Shop, with orders completed on iKamper’s site. For a limited time, the 12-volt power cable connecting the junction box to the vehicle is included at no additional cost with purchase.
