Rivian has transformed its Meatpacking District location into an immersive concept experience, inviting visitors to explore the spirit of adventure through interactive storytelling and sensory design. This reimagined space, located under the High Line in New York City, serves as a hub for both longtime fans and newcomers to connect with the brand’s mission and products.

Rivian's Adventure Experience in NYC

Since its opening in 2023, Rivian’s Meatpacking District space has welcomed thousands of visitors to explore its vehicles and attend events. Following an extensive remodel, the location now serves as Rivian’s first concept experience, featuring yearly rotating themes. The inaugural theme, “Adventure Is In Us,” showcases stories of individuals, including Rivian owners, who embody adventure in unique ways. This concept broadens the definition of adventure, emphasizing that it can include starting anew or pursuing creative passions, not just outdoor feats.

The space offers a multi-sensory experience with natural materials, soundscapes, fresh greenery, and a coffee and tea bar creating an inviting atmosphere. Visitors can interact with digital displays to hear owner stories via headsets or learn about charging through a touch wall. Designed with kids in mind, interactive elements like a vehicle color experience and NYC sound game are placed at lower heights.

Architectural details, such as overhead millwork inspired by Rivian’s vehicle headlights, reflect the brand’s design language. The space integrates with the High Line, using plants to blend indoor and outdoor areas. A central pavilion doubles as a display area and communal theater for projected content.

Exclusive to this location, Rivian offers “adventure drives,” allowing guests to test vehicle capabilities on day trips to destinations like the Met Cloisters or Storm King Art Center. Standard demo drives are also available, bookable online. The space hosts events like community gatherings and panel discussions, complemented by expanded food and beverage options, including coffee from Don Carvajal and tea from Harney & Sons.
