Plett Truck Repair, a well-regarded entity in the regional trucking industry, is known for its dedication to quality service and innovation. Andreas Deuschle, Global Head of RIZON Truck, stated that this delivery “reflects consumer confidence in RIZON’s technology and our commitment to supporting a cleaner, more efficient future for commercial transport.” He added that RIZON is “proud to partner with businesses like Plett Truck Repair that recognize both the operational and environmental advantages of adopting electric trucks.” This delivery follows recent handovers to various municipalities in Vancouver and Quebec, as well as a business in Victoria, B.C., underscoring a busy period for RIZON.
RIZON trucks are designed to meet the rising demand for sustainable fleet solutions and are eligible for substantial incentives. The iMHZEV federal incentive offers approximately $75,000 per vehicle at the point of sale, with additional provincial incentives of up to $75,000 available in British Columbia. This financial support makes the transition to zero-emission vehicles more attainable for fleet operators.
With a growing dealer network across British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, RIZON provides models offering up to 257 km of range. These trucks are optimized for urban logistics, service, and municipal applications, delivering real-world value. RIZON’s Canadian dealer network currently includes nine locations, with plans for further expansion. RIZON Truck Canada, a subsidiary of Velocity Vehicle Group, exclusively distributes RIZON trucks in Canada.
RIZON, Daimler Truck’s newest brand, was publicly unveiled at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in May 2023. These Class 4-5 medium-duty battery-electric vehicles range from 15,995 to 18,850 lbs. in gross vehicle weight (GVW) for Canadian customers. They offer ranges up to 177 km (M size variant with 2 battery packs) and up to 257 km (L size variant with 3 battery packs) on a single charge under standard testing conditions. RIZON trucks support both DC Fast Charging (via CCS1 connector) and Level 2 AC Charging (via J1772 connector), providing charging flexibility for current and future needs.
