In March 2023, Scout Motors announced plans to build the new Scout® vehicles at this state-of-the-art factory. Facility Overview: The new Scout vehicles will be built on a newly designed body-on-frame electric vehicle platform. The Production Center includes a body shop, paint shop, and final assembly buildings. Additionally, a state-of-the-art training center for employees and a technology center to support future vehicles are part of the project.

Construction Progress:

  • Steel Construction: The body shop is the last major building to begin steel construction. Last month saw the first steel go up for this structure.
  • Roof Decking: Roof decking has started on both the paint shop and the assembly building.
  • Earth Moving: Crews have moved over 8 million cubic yards of dirt, continuing with grading and infrastructure improvements.
  • Steel Installation: Approximately 26% of the steel has been installed, up from 10% last month.
  • Foundations: Assembly building foundations are 63% installed.

Detailed Progress: The main assembly building, spanning nearly 1.3 million square feet, is progressing with steel erection and roof decking. The paint shop is also advancing with further steel construction and the arrival of future equipment. The body shop saw a brisk pace of construction, with 15% of the steel erected and 39% of the foundations installed, out of a total of 600 foundations planned.
