Zerova Technologies has launched the AW48, a new AC Level 2 EV charger designed with advanced cybersecurity protections. This charger meets the rising demand for secure, reliable charging in public networks, fleet operations, and various settings, blending cutting-edge security with durability and efficiency.
Key Highlights:
- Advanced cybersecurity with chipset-based security and PEN tested firmware
- Supports over 60 global OCPP backends for seamless integration
- Multiple authentication methods including RFID, QR Code, and Credit Card Reader
- Durable design with IP56/NEMA 4 rating and -40°F cold-weather rated cables
With the rapid expansion of EV infrastructure, cybersecurity is now a top priority. Threats like unauthorized access and data breaches can disrupt charging networks. The AW48 tackles these risks with chipset-based security and PEN tested firmware, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats.
Integration is a breeze with the AW48, which supports over 60 global OCPP backends. It’s also OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 ready, making it future-proof for next-gen Charge Point Management Systems and adaptable to evolving network needs.
User convenience shines through its multiple authentication options, such as RFID, QR Code, and Credit Card Reader. It also complies with ISO 15118 for Plug & Charge, streamlining access while keeping security tight.
Built tough, the AW48 boasts an IP56/NEMA 4 rating and -40°F cold-weather rated cables. Certified for altitudes up to 13,000 feet, it’s a reliable choice for diverse environments, from icy mountains to urban hubs.
Energy efficiency is baked in, with Energy Star certification and CTEP scheduling. Plus, compatibility with J1772 and NACS connectors ensures it works with both current and next-gen EVs.
“At Zerova Technologies, we recognize that cybersecurity is no longer an option—it’s a necessity,” said Manny Huguez, President at Zerova Technologies. “With the launch of the AW48, we’re not only providing a reliable and durable EV charging solution but also ensuring that our partners and their customers are protected against emerging cyber threats.”
Zerova pledges full cybersecurity compliance across its AC and DC lineup by Q4 this year. The AW48 will debut at the EV Charging Summit & Expo in Las Vegas, March 26-27, at Booth #333.
