Versinetic Unveils Dual-Socket EV Charge Controller Boards

Versinetic is launching CongaEEL and MinnoRay, two EV charge controller boards that let manufacturers build single- or dual-socket three-phase AC chargers from fewer components, debuting at EV Charge Live September 22–24, 2026.

Versinetic is launching two EV charge controller boards, CongaEEL and MinnoRay, that let manufacturers run two AC charging sockets from a single controller instead of one controller per socket. The Versinetic boards, aimed at charge point OEMs and CPOs, debut this week ahead of EV Charge Live at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, running September 22–24, 2026. The company says the pair reduces the hardware, wiring, and compliance testing a charger design would otherwise require.

How Do the Boards Enable a Dual-Socket Charger?

CongaEEL is Versinetic’s integrated power controller board for public and commercial AC charging. It stacks with either of the company’s controller boards — MinnoRay or MantaRay — and two CongaEEL boards pair with a single controller for a dual-socket build.

In that configuration, the controller board handles communications while each CongaEEL board handles power and safety, including the ISO 15118 interface for Plug and Charge. Together, the company says, the boards let a manufacturer build a single- or dual-socket, three-phase AC charger from fewer separate components.

CongaEEL: Integrated Power Controller

CongaEEL brings four functions onto one IEC 61851-compliant board:

  • Three-phase mains contactor
  • Onboard RDC-DD (residual direct current detection)
  • Current measurement
  • ISO 15118 interface for Plug and Charge

MinnoRay: Compact Communications Board

MinnoRay is Versinetic’s compact communications and controller board, built for cost-sensitive applications. It is OCPP 1.6 compliant and combines four connectivity options on one board:

  • 10/100 Ethernet
  • LTE Cat 1 bis modem
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth

MinnoRay sits alongside MantaRay in the company’s controller lineup, giving OEMs a lower-cost option when a build does not need the full MantaRay feature set. It is available direct from Versinetic or under license for high-volume manufacturers building it into their own charger design.

Executive Comment

“An EV charger is built from dozens of separate parts today, each sourced, wired and tested on its own. CongaEEL and MinnoRay let a manufacturer start from two boards that are already engineered to work together, so the integration work is done before the design even reaches the bench,” said Dunstan Power, Managing Director at Versinetic.

“We’re hearing the same thing from OEMs and CPOs across the market,” Power continued. “They want a connected, compliant charger without carrying the cost of features they don’t need. MinnoRay gives them that option alongside MantaRay, so the choice depends on the build, rather than what we happen to offer.”

Show Debut

Both boards will be on display at stand EV38 at EV Charge Live, where Versinetic’s engineering consultants will be available to discuss single- and dual-socket charger builds. The boards join a hardware and software portfolio that includes the company’s EVerest open-source integration for charge point manufacturers.

Versinetic designs the control electronics and software inside AC EV chargers, supplying charge controller boards, load-balancing hardware, and charging software to EVSE manufacturers, charge point operators, and installers. The company says its charge point engineering work spans 14 years, beginning with the control system for the London 2012 Olympic Games charge posts.
