The STLA Medium platform has set a new benchmark for long-range electric vehicle performance, demonstrating impressive real-world highway capabilities. The new Peugeot E-3008, built on the STLA Medium platform and equipped with the long-range BEV propulsion system, recently traveled from Paris to Nice with just two charging stops, highlighting the platform’s efficiency and range. During the journey, the vehicle maintained speeds of up to 130 km/h, with an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, further solidifying its position as a strong competitor against traditional internal combustion engines.

Key Highlights:

  • Peugeot E-3008 traveled from Paris to Nice with only two charging stops, comparable to an ICE vehicle refueling break.
  • Long-range STLA Medium platform enables nearly 1000 km at highway speeds with minimal stops, showcasing best-in-class efficiency.
  • Peugeot E-3008, E-5008, and Opel Grandland are already built on this platform, with more models to launch by 2026.
  • ACC batteries produced at Stellantis’ Billy-Berclau/Douvrin gigafactory ensure extended range and performance.

The long-range STLA Medium platform offers a level of convenience and performance similar to that of an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, pausing for refueling or driver rest, but without the emissions. According to Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer at Stellantis, “Our focus has always been on creating technology that directly benefits our customers. The STLA Medium platform’s long-range capability makes it ideal for long-distance travel without compromising on the convenience and efficiency of a BEV. Drivers can now enjoy extended trips with fewer charging stops, delivering both performance and peace of mind.”

Further simulations showed similar outcomes for STLA Medium-equipped vehicles during long trips across Europe, including routes like Turin to Naples and Prague to Brussels. The platform’s long-range version is currently the only one in its class capable of covering close to 1000 km at highway speeds with only two stops, reinforcing its status as a leader in efficiency and convenience.

The Peugeot E-3008, E-5008, and Opel Grandland are already available on the STLA Medium platform, with five more models expected to launch by the end of 2026. The vehicles on this platform are ideal for those who want the core advantages of a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) – zero tailpipe emissions, lower operating costs, and a quiet, smooth ride – along with the ability to travel longer distances with fewer stops. These benefits are supported by the high-performance ACC batteries produced at Stellantis’ gigafactory in the Hauts-de-France region.

Stellantis’ high vertical integration guarantees superior quality and performance through complete control over the value chain. This commitment to quality and performance ensures that vehicles using the STLA Medium platform provide a driving experience that meets the expectations of today’s consumers seeking both sustainability and long-range performance.
