Honda will offer a limited-run Prelude 2027 Limited Edition to customers across Europe starting in fall 2026, pairing Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint with a Bordeaux interior on its e:HEV hybrid sports coupe. The special edition arrives after what Honda describes as a successful debut in Japan. It builds on the standard Honda Prelude hybrid coupe, adding exclusive exterior and cabin trim while carrying over the powertrain unchanged.

Exterior: Crystal Garnet Paint and Red Accents
The Limited Edition’s defining feature is its exclusive color. Honda says the Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint was engineered to catch the light and accentuate the car’s contours.
Red accents on the front and rear bumpers complement the paint. The exterior package also includes red Brembo brake calipers and 19-inch black cut alloy wheels.
What Changes Inside the Prelude Limited Edition?
The cabin moves to a Bordeaux color scheme, which the company says uses premium materials with tailored contrast accents. The interior changes include:
- Contrast red stitching on the steering wheel, center console, and dashboard, continuing onto the front seats and door panels
- Dedicated floor mats with a red accent
- Embroidered Prelude logo on the dashboard, which Honda says is meant to give the impression that each car has been hand-signed
Hybrid Powertrain Carries Over
Beneath the new colorway, the Limited Edition retains the Prelude e:HEV’s hybrid setup and Honda S+ Shift. According to Honda, S+ Shift is designed to deliver an intuitive, weightless driving feel inspired by the experience of flying in a glider.
The original Prelude debuted nearly 50 years ago, and Honda positions the nameplate as a showcase for its latest technology. The glider theme runs through the current model’s development, as Tomoyuki Yamagami, Large Project Leader for the Honda Prelude, explained.
“The characteristics of the Prelude have changed over the years, but what has remained the same is its sportiness and specialty. When you think of a sports car, you think of something sharp, like an F1 or a fighter jet. However, I think the theme of this model is closer to the image of a glider that glides through the air with a sense of freedom,” said Yamagami.
The Prelude Limited Edition is a Model Year 2027 vehicle and will be available in Europe from fall 2026.
