TurnOnGreen Expands EV Charging Infrastructure in Foster City

TurnOnGreen has completed a new Level 2 EV charging infrastructure project in Foster City, California, deploying networked 11 kW stations to support local workforce housing and municipal sustainability goals.

TurnOnGreen, Inc. has finished deploying a new electric vehicle charging network for Foster City, California. The project brings high-powered Level 2 chargers to a local workforce housing community. This installation aligns with local emission reduction targets and utilizes advanced management software for ongoing network monitoring.

Highlights

  • TurnOnGreen installed multiple 48-amp, 11 kW Level 2 EV charging stations at The Pilgrim workforce housing community.
  • The cloud-networked hardware provides residents with approximately 35 to 40 miles of driving range per hour of charging.
  • This deployment supports Foster City’s Climate Action Plan goal to cut community emissions nearly 50 percent below 2005 levels by 2030.
  • Peninsula Clean Energy provided technical assistance and financial incentives to support the infrastructure expansion.

Hardware Specifications and Network Software

The Foster City installation utilizes multiple TurnOnGreen EVP1100 stations designed for robust daily use. The key specifications include:

  • Power Output: 48-amp / 11 kW Level 2 charging capability.
  • Charging Speed: Delivers approximately 35 to 40 miles of driving range per hour.
  • Software Integration: Cloud-based platform for remote operation, session tracking, and energy monitoring.
  • Certifications: ENERGY STAR® certified with internationally recognized safety and performance ratings.

Foster City administrators will manage the network using the company’s proprietary management software. This platform enables precise energy tracking and generates detailed activity reports for municipal oversight.

Advancing Local Sustainability Goals

The chargers operate exclusively for residents at The Pilgrim, located at 501 Pilgrim Drive. The site also includes van-accessible spaces for vehicles displaying disability placards. This project directly supports the Foster City Climate Action Plan. Specifically, the city aims to reduce community-wide emissions to roughly 50 percent below 2005 levels by the year 2030.

“We are excited to partner with Foster City to support its ambitious sustainability goals by delivering affordable, reliable, and customizable EV charging solutions,” stated Marcus Charuvastra, President of TurnOnGreen. “These chargers will help simplify the transition to electric mobility for Foster City residents.”

Sofia Mangalam, Community Development Director for Foster City, praised the collaborative effort. “The installation of these EV chargers, including van-accessible spaces for vehicles displaying disability placards, provides residents of our workforce housing property with convenient and affordable charging options,” Mangalam said. Furthermore, she noted gratitude toward Peninsula Clean Energy for its incentive program and technical support.

California Charging Infrastructure Demand

This local deployment reflects a broader regional need for charging access. According to the California Energy Commission, the state requires significant infrastructure expansion over the current decade. Over 1.01 million public and shared private chargers will be necessary by 2030. Consequently, these installations will support an estimated 7.1 million passenger plug-in EVs across California.
