Volkswagen’s ID. Buzz has been crowned the 2025 World Car Design of the Year, a prestigious honor announced at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. This all-electric vehicle, a modern take on the iconic Microbus, captivated judges with its retro-inspired aesthetics, innovative technology, and eco-friendly performance. Selected from three finalists, the ID. Buzz marks Volkswagen’s sixth World Car Award, underscoring the brand’s commitment to blending heritage with forward-thinking design.

The ID. Buzz stands out with its nostalgic yet futuristic design, offering seating for up to seven, ample legroom, and premium features like an electrochromic panoramic glass roof. Its vibrant two-tone color options and bold VW logo pay homage to the Microbus, while its electric powertrain aligns with Volkswagen’s vision for sustainable mobility. “The ID. The World Car Awards, established in 2004, celebrate automotive excellence across categories like design, safety, and innovation. Judged by top journalists and verified by an independent accounting firm, the awards highlight vehicles available in at least two major markets. The ID. Buzz’s win reflects its ability to push creative boundaries while delivering functionality and style.
