Volvo Cars opened U.S. orders for the all-electric EX60 mid-size SUV at a starting price of $58,400, debuting the model in New York City and positioning it against established premium electric SUVs in the largest EV segment. The 2027 EX60 can be configured online through authorized U.S. retailers, with the company offering two powertrain options at launch and a third arriving later. Volvo released the pricing and ordering details alongside the New York unveiling.

Range and Charging Performance
Volvo lists three powertrain options for the U.S. market, with all range figures preliminary and based on the company’s own calculations using EPA test cycles. Official EPA range estimates will be released at a later date.
- EX60 P6 — up to 307 miles, 320 kW peak charging, 10–80% in 16 minutes
- EX60 P10 AWD — up to 322 miles, 370 kW peak charging, 10–80% in 16 minutes
- EX60 P12 AWD — up to 400 miles, 370 kW peak charging, 10–80% in 19 minutes
The P12 AWD configuration, arriving after the P6 and P10 variants, is the range leader at up to 400 miles per charge on 20-inch tires. The 800V architecture on the SPA3 platform enables up to 173 miles of range added in 10 minutes at peak charging rates.
Native NACS Port
The EX60 is the first Volvo car equipped with a native North American Charging Standard port. The integration provides adapter-free access to more than 29,000 Tesla Supercharger stations nationwide, joining a growing list of automakers transitioning from CCS1 to native NACS hardware on new model launches.
Platform and Safety
Volvo built the EX60 on its SPA3 platform, developed at the company’s Gothenburg, Sweden headquarters. The architecture incorporates cell-to-body battery integration, in-house developed e-motors, a new battery cell design, and megacasting construction. Volvo states the EX60 achieves the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo to date, matching that of the smaller EX30.
HuginCore, the company’s core computing system, anchors the vehicle’s software-defined architecture. The system integrates electrical architecture, zone controllers, and software to enable over-the-air updates and active sensor-based monitoring. The EX60 is also the first Volvo to launch with Google’s Gemini AI assistant.
The safety structure centers on a boron steel reinforced safety cage with advanced restraint systems. HuginCore’s computing power enables Volvo’s multi-adaptive safety belt — a world-first technology that adjusts belt load based on occupant size and crash severity — to debut in the EX60’s front row.
“The Volvo EX60 delivers on the key needs of American customers and is ideally positioned to play a major role in Volvo’s growth ambitions in the U.S.,” said Luis Rezende, president of Volvo Car Americas. “Backed by nearly 100 years of safety leadership and Scandinavian design heritage, the Volvo EX60 addresses the biggest barriers for U.S. consumers to switch to an EV, delivering the range Americans want, at a competitive price, with fast, simple charging that fits into daily life.”
Availability
Customers can view the EX60 in person at Westfield World Trade Center in New York City. Test drive scheduling is set to begin later this summer, with initial U.S. deliveries expected shortly thereafter. The January reveal preceded European production at Volvo’s Torslanda plant in Gothenburg.
