Volvo S60 Recharge Awarded Best Luxury Plug-In Hybrid

MAHWAH, N.J. – The Volvo S60 Recharge has been named a 2022 Best Hybrid and Electric Car by U.S. News & World Report, earning the Best Luxury Plug-In Hybrid award.

After assessing 82 hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles and considering the overall score from the U.S. News Best Car rankings, the starting price, Level 2 charging rate, and EPA fuel economy estimates, the award belonged to the S60 Recharge.

For 2022 the Volvo S60 Recharge T8 Extended Range offers 455 horsepower, with an estimated range of 74 MPGe combined /30MPG city/33 MPG highway. Drivers can travel up to 41 miles with zero tailpipe emissions when in Pure Mode. The S60 Recharge also features automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and pedestrian and cyclist detection as standard safety equipment.

As Volvo Cars continues down its route toward electrification and a zero-emission future, the automaker strives for half of its global sales to be all-electric by 2025, with hybrids, and is committed to becoming a fully electric car company by 2030.

“We are honored that the S60 Recharge has been recognized for its compelling combination of quality, value and efficiency,” said Anders Gustafsson, Senior Vice President, Volvo Car Americas and President and CEO, Volvo Car USA.
