Vontier’s Driivz and ENAPI Boost EV Roaming

Driivz and ENAPI partner to enhance global EV charging, offering seamless roaming across 350,000+ charge points, simplifying connectivity for CPOs, eMSPs, and drivers.

Vontier’s Driivz, a leading global software provider for EV charging, has partnered with ENAPI, a Berlin-based roaming connectivity platform, to enhance seamless, scalable electric vehicle (EV) charging across borders and networks. This collaboration aims to simplify connectivity for charge point operators (CPOs), e-mobility service providers (eMSPs), and EV drivers, fostering a more accessible and efficient charging ecosystem.

Key Highlights:

  • Global Roaming Access: Driivz customers gain instant access to ENAPI’s network of over 350,000 charge points across Europe.
  • Seamless Transactions: Integration with ENAPI’s OCPI-based roaming broker streamlines cross-network transactions.
  • Driver Convenience: EV drivers can charge across networks using a single payment account.
  • Future Expansion: Plans to extend roaming to North America and Asia-Pacific, aligning with ISO 15118 Plug & Charge standards.
  • Interoperability Focus: Driivz’s platform supports hundreds of OCPI 2.21 connections, enhancing open connectivity.

Enhancing EV Charging Accessibility

The partnership integrates Driivz’s Smart EV Charging and Energy Management platform with ENAPI’s roaming broker, enabling CPOs and eMSPs to expand their reach without managing complex bilateral connections. This ensures broader geographic coverage and simplifies the charging process for drivers, reducing friction in cross-network transactions. By leveraging ENAPI’s network, which includes eight of Europe’s top 10 eMSPs, Driivz customers can offer a more flexible and scalable charging experience.

A Vision for Seamless Charging

Driivz and ENAPI share a commitment to driver-centric innovation. According to Driivz CEO Andy Bennett, “Interoperability and flexibility are key to the future of e-mobility.” This partnership supports real-time communication between platforms, ensuring EV drivers enjoy a consistent experience regardless of location or network. ENAPI co-founder Jakob Kleihues echoed this, stating, “Our mission is to make EV charging transactions seamless, efficient, and accessible.”

Pioneering Open Connectivity

Driivz has been a leader in interoperability since integrating OCPI technology in 2015, supporting hundreds of connections in production. The partnership with ENAPI builds on Driivz’s existing ecosystem, which includes collaborations with Hubject and GIREVE. This open, hardware-agnostic approach promotes a transparent EV charging marketplace, reducing range anxiety for drivers and enabling smarter energy planning for utilities through improved data transparency.

Global Expansion Plans

Following the European rollout, Driivz and ENAPI plan to bring their seamless roaming solution to North America and Asia-Pacific. By aligning with emerging ISO 15118 standards, the partnership aims to set a global benchmark for EV charging interoperability, further simplifying the experience for drivers worldwide.
