London-based Kooling and Philadelphia-based InductEV have announced a strategic partnership aimed at helping public transport administrators and EV fleet operators achieve greater efficiencies, enhanced safety, and improved sustainability in urban mobility. By uniting big data-driven urban mobility solutions with high-power wireless charging technology, the collaboration promises to accelerate the clean energy transition in public transportation networks.
- Advanced Analytics: Using Kooling’s proprietary platform, city administrations and fleet operators gain insights to optimize routes, improve air quality, and better manage urban congestion.
- High-Power Wireless Charging: InductEV’s solution eliminates the need for extensive downtime by offering on-route EV charging, reducing the reliance on large-scale depot charging sessions.
- Environmental Stewardship: This approach not only supports sustainability targets but also aligns with long-term goals of reducing carbon emissions in densely populated areas.
- Streamlined Operations: By integrating these complementary technologies, cities can optimize energy usage, enhance vehicle uptime, and advance their smart city initiatives.
The partnership’s focus on delivering a unified technology offering aims to help cities meet both performance benchmarks and sustainability objectives more effectively. Through the combination of InductEV’s best-in-class wireless inductive charging solution and Kooling’s data-driven mobility insights, the result is a more efficient and resilient transportation infrastructure.
“There are few companies with the technology and insights into urban mobility that Kooling has,” said James Wroe, InductEV’s Managing Director for Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. “We are delighted to be working alongside them to deliver a timely and easily implemented solution in an industry sector that needs it most – public transport.”
“Kooling’s mission is to empower Cities and Companies with unprecedented insight on mobility patterns, demand and the impact these have on the organisation, the people and the urban environment,” said David Falconi, founder and CEO of Kooling. “By partnering with InductEV, we can bridge the gap between mobility insights and energy solutions, delivering a comprehensive offering to city leaders and fleet operators who are committed to making their cities more efficient and beautiful.”
InductEV’s high-power wireless charging system relies on inductive charging pads, combining an in-ground pad with an under-vehicle pad. Current systems range from 75 kW to 450 kW, ensuring rapid and efficient charging with no additional real estate needed. This hands-free approach boosts driver safety and shifts reliance from overnight depot charging to shorter, strategically placed on-route charging sessions.
By capitalizing on available clean energy, InductEV and Kooling reduce the strain on power utilities and streamline the transition to a fully electrified urban fleet. As a result, their integrated solution offers a model for future-ready cities committed to sustainable and smart mobility.
InductEV is a global leader in high-power, high-speed wireless EV charging and AI-driven energy management. With significant deployment in North America and Europe, and numerous patents and R&D centers, it is at the forefront of innovation in the EV sector. Meanwhile, Kooling leverages Big Data analysis, Machine Learning, and Scientific Research to empower companies and cities with the insights needed to implement large-scale decarbonization strategies, focusing on transport and mobility solutions that strengthen urban environments.
