XPENG Launches G6 and G9 SUVs in Mexico

XPENG launched its G6 and G9 electric SUVs in Mexico with 800V fast-charging technology, opening dealerships in three cities starting April 6.

Chinese EV maker XPENG has entered the Mexican market with its G6 and G9 electric SUVs. The company unveiled both models at a launch event in Mexico City on March 25, with first dealerships set to open in April across three major cities.

Platform and Technology

Both the G6 and G9 are built on XPENG’s 800V high-voltage silicon carbide architecture. The platform supports 5C ultra-fast charging. Each model includes the company’s XPILOT ASSIST driver-assistance system, which covers high-speed cruising, urban following, automated parking, and smart summon functions. Additionally, both SUVs offer full-vehicle voice interaction, multi-zone recognition, and customizable smart driving scenarios.

Mexico Pricing

The G6 is available in three configurations. The Long Range variant starts at 819,900 Mexican pesos (approximately $45,300 USD). The Performance AWD model is priced at 889,900 pesos (approximately $49,200 USD), while the Black Edition sits at 919,900 pesos (approximately $50,800 USD). XPENG is offering a 20,000-peso discount for the first 100 G6 customers.

The G9 comes in two trims. The Long Range starts at 1,099,900 pesos (approximately $60,800 USD), and the Performance AWD is priced at 1,259,900 pesos (approximately $69,700 USD).

Dealer Network and Aftersales

XPENG has partnered with three dealer groups to manage sales and service in its initial key markets. The first dealerships in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey are scheduled to open on April 6, with further expansion planned in the following months.

To support aftersales operations, the company has set up a national spare parts warehouse spanning 1,000 square meters with more than 2,000 SKUs. Delivery times for parts are projected at one to three days for key regions and three to five days nationwide.

Global Context

The G6 is currently sold in more than 40 countries and regions. XPENG says the model ranks as the top-selling midsize EV among Chinese new-energy brands in markets including Norway, Germany, and Spain. Meanwhile, the G9 has reached the top of its segment in nine European countries, including Italy and Germany.
