Yutong Bus Co., Ltd., a leading global bus manufacturer, has made significant advancements in electric public transport by successfully testing its pure electric buses in the extreme cold weather conditions of Norway and Kazakhstan. In a noteworthy achievement, a Yutong electric bus navigated the harsh climates, achieving a driving range of 374 km in temperatures as low as -25°C in Kazakhstan. This achievement underscores the electric bus’s robust performance and reliability in challenging environments.

In Kazakhstan, the E18PRO model showcased its exceptional range and passenger comfort during a challenging journey on January 21, 2024. The vehicle’s success is attributed to Yutong’s sophisticated battery technology, including a liquid heating system that ensures the lithium iron phosphate batteries operate efficiently under extreme conditions.

Further demonstrating its capabilities, Yutong’s U12 model underwent rigorous testing in Kirkenes, Norway, where it operated seamlessly at -33°C. The bus’s low power consumption of 1.56 kw/km over a 105 km test highlights Yutong’s focus on vehicle durability and performance in cold, salty conditions typical of Norwegian winters.
