In a significant accolade from U.S. News & World Report, the 2024 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid has been honored as the “Best Plug-In Hybrid SUV.” This prestigious recognition marks Kia‘s standout performance in the highly competitive hybrid and electric vehicle category. U.S. News examined a broad spectrum of 96 vehicles, including luxury and budget-friendly options across various segments, evaluating factors such as gas mileage, EPA range data, pricing, and reviews from the automotive press.

John Vincent, senior editor/vehicle testing at U.S. News, emphasized the practicality of plug-in hybrids as transitional vehicles towards an all-electric future. He remarked, “Plug-in hybrid electric cars are a bridge to our electric car future. The Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid’s EPA-estimated 134-miles of all-electric range can cover many commutes, and its gasoline engine kicks in on longer weekend jaunts.”
The 2024 Sportage has been completely redesigned in 2023, featuring both interior and exterior updates. Notably, rear airbags and LED headlights are now standard features, enhancing safety and visibility.
