What ADAS Features Does the 2027 VF 8 Add?
According to the company, the newly added functions are:
- Automatic Emergency Stop Assist (AESA): Designed to decelerate and stop the vehicle within its lane if the driver becomes unresponsive. Once stopped, the system activates the hazard lights, applies the electronic parking brake, unlocks the doors, and triggers an eCall for assistance.
- Rear Automatic Emergency Braking (RAEB): Applies the brakes to stop the vehicle while reversing if the system detects an imminent collision with an obstacle or pedestrian.
- Intersection Assist (IA): Issues visual and audible warnings when the vehicle enters an intersection or attempts a left or right turn and the system detects a high collision risk with oncoming traffic, pedestrians, or other vulnerable road users.
- Auto Lane Changing Assist (ALCA): Provides steering guidance to move the vehicle into an adjacent lane. The driver can request a lane change manually, or the system can suggest one.
- Evasive Steering Assist (ESA): Supplies steering torque to help the driver avoid a frontal obstacle when braking alone is insufficient, then helps stabilize the vehicle after the maneuver.
Energy Cost Savings Calculator
VinFast also recently launched an Energy Cost Savings Calculator on its website. The company says the tool lets prospective buyers estimate potential operating savings compared with gasoline-powered vehicles, based on their driving habits and local energy rates.

VinFast says it plans continued vehicle updates, an expanded lineup, and further growth of its retail, service, and aftersales dealer network in North America. The company, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC, trades on Nasdaq under the ticker VFS.
