The Acura Performance EV Concept, a strikingly styled SUV, is the brand’s latest step toward electrification. Developed by the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, the concept was introduced at Monterey Car Week, one of the world’s premier automotive events. This concept car is a precursor to an all-new Acura model, which will be the first vehicle engineered on Honda’s newly developed EV platform. Production is slated to begin in late 2025 at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio.

“The Acura Performance EV Concept kicks off the exciting next step in our electrification strategy, showcasing the styling direction of our next all-new, all-electric Acura model that will debut next year,” said Mike Langel, assistant vice president, Acura National Sales.

The design of the Acura Performance EV Concept reflects the brand’s future direction for electric vehicles, incorporating a vented hood, prominent side vents, and an aggressive front fascia. The vehicle’s rear features an upswept decklid, a full-width taillight, and a distinctive “ACURA” badging, emphasizing its electric identity.

“The Acura Performance EV Concept is the archetype of Acura Performance in the electrified era, taking full advantage of the extreme design freedom of stance and proportion offered by our next-generation EV platform to push the boundaries of Acura design even further,” added Dave Marek, Acura Design Executive.

The concept will make its public debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on August 16, followed by an appearance on the Concept Lawn at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18.

Acura has a rich history of concept vehicles at Monterey Car Week, with the Performance EV Concept being the fifth in the last 11 years. This event solidifies Acura’s commitment to its Precision Crafted Performance DNA as it transitions into the electrified future.

Honda EV Hub Progress
Honda’s Ohio-based EV Hub is progressing rapidly, laying the foundation for future electric vehicle production in North America. The facility, slated for completion by late 2024, will be a cornerstone for Honda’s EV strategy, including in-house assembly of the Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) and a substantial $700 million investment in production retooling.

The Acura Performance EV Concept is more than just a design statement; it’s a bold step toward an electrified future for the brand.
