AION Auto UK will open order books for the AION UT in September, with the B-segment electric hatchback rated at 268 miles of range from a 60 kWh battery. First customer deliveries follow in October. The UT is the second model from AION, the electric brand of Chinese automaker GAC, to reach the UK market, and the company says its 268-mile figure is the longest standard range in the segment.

Battery, Range and Charging
The AION UT uses a 60 kWh battery that AION rates at 268 miles of range and says can recharge from 30% to 80% in 24 minutes. The motor produces 201 horsepower (204 PS) and moves the car from 0 to 62 mph in 7.3 seconds.
The range figure is a UK-market rating and is not directly comparable to EPA numbers used in North America. AION has not published pricing for the UT.
What Comes as Standard?
The UT is offered in a single trim level and five colors. Standard equipment includes heated front seats, a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and a 360-degree surround-view camera — content AION describes as typical of larger segments.
An optional Premium Pack adds:
- Panoramic glass roof
- Powered tailgate
- Ventilated driver’s seat
- Wireless phone charging
Exterior design comes from GAC’s Milan studio, which styled the car for European markets. The front end uses owl-inspired headlights and a 2×2 “ice cube” turn signal and daytime running light cluster.

Chassis Tuning for UK Roads
Beyond the European design work, AION engineered the UT specifically for UK road surfaces, extending a program the company first applied to the AION V earlier this year. The UT received modified springs, dampers, bump stops and calibration, along with a revised anti-roll bar — a component change the V program did not include.
How Does the Great 8 Promise Work?
Every UT ships with the AION Great 8 Promise: an eight-year warranty, eight years of servicing, eight years of roadside assistance, and MOT coverage — the UK’s annual roadworthiness inspection — until the vehicle is eight years old.
The package is VIN-locked rather than owner-locked, meaning it stays with the vehicle when ownership transfers. AION describes it as the strongest aftersales offer available in the UK market. The company has not published servicing intervals, mileage caps or exclusions for the UT program.
