The launch is led by AION Auto UK, the joint venture between GAC International and Jameel Motors, which marked the start of sales at an event at its new Slough headquarters. The retail network begins opening to customers this week, backed by nationwide servicing and parts arrangements meant to support buyers before the dealer footprint is complete.

How Will AION Support UK Buyers?
Because AION is entering the UK from a standing start, the company has leaned on established partners to provide coverage while its own retail network grows. Aftersales support runs through a partnership with the AA, which gives customers access to a nationwide network of accredited workshops and more than 100 mobile service technicians for servicing, maintenance, and repair. A separate collaboration with DHL provides nationwide next-day delivery of parts from AION’s hub in Bury St Edmunds. The first retailers open to customers this week, with further sites planned over the coming months.

Pricing is held from when the SUV opened for pre-orders earlier this spring: £36,450 (about $48,990) on-the-road, with PCP offers running 18 to 48 months from £379 per month (about $510) at 2.9% APR representative through AION Financial Services. Every AION V comes with the “AION Great 8” package, which bundles eight years of cover across warranty, servicing, roadside assistance, and MOT.
A Slough Launch Event With the Joint Venture Partners
AION Auto UK marked the start of sales at its new Slough headquarters, where Managing Director Jon Wakefield hosted senior representatives from the joint venture’s partners, GAC International and Jameel Motors, alongside retail and strategic partners. Among the guests were Jack Chen, Vice President of GAC Group and Chairman of GAC International, and Jasmmine Wong, CEO of Jameel Motors.

AION’s UK and Global Ambitions
AION is the electrified brand within GAC Group and was established in 2017. The company reports that it sold more than 300,000 cars in China last year, and GAC’s internationalization strategy targets one million overseas sales by 2030. The UK launch is positioned as a step toward that goal. AION plans to introduce a lineup of eight electrified vehicles in the UK by 2030, spearheaded by the AION V family SUV now on sale.
