Blink Charging has announced a significant agreement to deploy 50 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across premium locations in Mexico, as part of the Porsche Destination Charging Program. This initiative aims to enhance EV accessibility for Porsche drivers by providing convenient charging solutions at select hotels, retail outlets, and restaurants. The collaboration underscores Blink’s expansion into the Mexican market and supports the growing demand for reliable EV infrastructure.

  • Porsche Destination Benefits: Free charging sessions, a complimentary Blink RFID card, and a 35% discount at all Blink Charging locations for Porsche Destination clients.
  • Revenue Sharing: Participating locations will receive a percentage of the charging revenue.
  • Comprehensive Services: Blink will manage all aspects of the charging stations, including installation, maintenance, and support.
  • Advanced Technology: The Blink IQ200 chargers offer up to 19.2 kW of power, ensuring efficient charging.

The Porsche Destination Charging Program is a global initiative focused on providing Porsche EV and plug-in hybrid owners with convenient charging options at exclusive destinations. This partnership with Blink Charging will significantly bolster the program’s presence in Mexico. Blink Charging will own, operate, supply, and maintain the chargers, ensuring a seamless and reliable charging experience. The company will also provide essential services such as site assessment, installation, maintenance, and product training.

Camilo San Martín, Director of Porsche de Mexico, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in expanding and strengthening the public charging network. He highlighted the goal of enhancing the user’s charging experience and promoting the transition to electromobility. The new charging stations, utilizing Blink’s IQ200 technology, will be available for use starting in March 2025.

Mike Battaglia, President and CEO of Blink Charging, stated that hospitality destinations are crucial for EV accessibility in Latin America. He emphasized that the “Blink Owned” business model allows the company to manage the entire lifecycle of the charging stations, ensuring reliability and advanced mobility solutions for Porsche EV drivers. This initiative not only supports Porsche’s sustainability goals but also provides valuable amenities to hotel, retail, and restaurant locations. Blink Charging’s cloud-based software allows for efficient management of charging sessions, further enhancing user experience.
