Chrysler Notifies Pacifica PHEV Minivan Owners of Available Repair for “Park Outside” Recall

Chrysler (Stellantis) is informing owners of select Model Year 2017-2018 Pacifica plug-in hybrid electric minivans that a repair is now available for a recall issued in February. Chrysler will mail letters to affected owners on or before October 11.

Chrysler dealers will update the high-voltage battery pack control module software. Dealers will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the battery pack assembly.

Until the recall repair is completed, owners should continue to park their vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures due to a risk of fire, even if the vehicle is turned off. Owners should also not charge these vehicles.

These vehicles were recalled due to a risk of fire, even with the minivan parked and turned off. The original recall notice from February is available online.

Vehicle owners can visit NHTSA.gov/recalls or call NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 and enter their 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if their vehicle is under recall. If it is, the owner should park their vehicle outdoors until a remedy is identified and the recall repair is completed.

Owners may also contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 to confirm parts availability and help schedule an appointment.

NHTSA encourages everyone to download its SaferCar app to stay informed on current recalls.
