DS Automobiles has priced its new DS N°7 compact SUV from $50,100 (€43,900) in HYBRID trim and $53,600 (€46,990) in E-TENSE electric guise, with first customer deliveries due by the end of the year. Built on the STLA Medium platform, the E-TENSE lineup is rated up to 460 miles (740 km) of WLTP combined range, while the HYBRID powertrain is rated from 120 grams of CO2 per kilometer — figures the company calls reference points in the segment. DS Automobiles’ international test drives for the N°7 are already underway across Europe ahead of the year-end delivery target. The automaker is positioning the model around cabin comfort, adaptive suspension, and a Level 2 driver-assistance suite rather than outright performance.

Design and Dimensions
The DS N°7 measures 183 inches (4.66 m) long, 74.8 inches (1.90 m) wide, and 64.2 inches (1.63 m) tall. Overall wheel diameter reaches 29.1 inches (740 mm), with rim sizes available up to 21 inches. DS Automobiles reports a 0.26 drag coefficient, which the company says contributes to the E-TENSE range figures. The front end offers a choice of a standard grille or the illuminated DS LUMINASCREEN grille with a backlit DS emblem, and buyers can select a bi-tone black roof or an extended bi-tone black roof and hood.
Cabin and Comfort
Front seats use high-density foam with adjustable side supports and are available in DS Canvas, Alcantara®, or naturally tanned Nappa leather, with heated, cooled, and massaging functions plus an optional DS NECK WARMER that circulates heat around the neck. Interior details include “Clous de Paris” embossed inserts, watch strap-inspired seat upholstery, Pearl stitching, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 16-inch central touchscreen; natural wood trim is available for the first time on the N°7. Longer rear doors and repositioned pillars add up to about 1 inch (25 mm) of headroom, and a panoramic glass roof with UV and low-E coatings is standard. The trunk holds up to 19.8 cubic feet (560 liters), with a two-position floor and under-floor charging-cable storage.
Driving Dynamics
The DS N°7 rides on the STLA Medium platform, which DS Automobiles says combines structural stiffness with ride filtering. DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION uses a forward-facing camera to read the road surface and adjust damping at each wheel individually across multiple drive modes, from comfort to sport. The cabin uses laminated glass and absorbent materials for sound isolation, and the optional Hi-Fi ELECTRA® 3D by FOCAL system delivers 690 watts through 14 speakers, including two roof-mounted tweeters.
E-TENSE Electric Powertrains
Three all-electric powertrains are offered, each with a temporary boost function:
- E-TENSE FWD: 230 hp (260 hp boost), 73.7 kWh battery, up to 337 miles (543 km) WLTP range
- E-TENSE FWD LONG RANGE: 245 hp (280 hp boost), 97.2 kWh battery, up to 460 miles (740 km) WLTP range
- E-TENSE AWD LONG RANGE: 350 hp (375 hp boost), all-wheel drive, up to 422 miles (679 km) WLTP range
DS Automobiles says the FWD LONG RANGE version can cover more than 249 miles (400 km) of highway driving at the speed limit with DS Drive Assist engaged and 20% battery remaining, and can complete a motorway trip of more than 435 miles (700 km) with a single charging stop, arriving with more than 25 miles (40 km) to spare. Charging from 20–80% takes 27 minutes on the FWD LONG RANGE battery, with power held at up to 160 kW between 20–55% for 124 miles (200 km) of range recovered in 10 minutes. The smaller 73.7 kWh battery charges 20–80% in 30 minutes.
HYBRID Powertrain
The 145-hp HYBRID combines a new 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. DS Automobiles says the system can run in electric mode up to 50% of the time in urban and suburban driving, with fuel consumption from 44 mpg-equivalent (5.3 L/100 km) and CO2 emissions from 120 g/km, both WLTP-cycle figures.
Driver-Assistance and Technology Suite
- DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0: Level 2 system with semi-automatic lane change, predictive adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist
- DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0: voice- or touchscreen-operated connected interface with an AI personal assistant
- DS EXTENDED HEAD-UP DISPLAY: projects driving data onto the windshield
- Digital Rear Vision: conventional mirror or wide-angle camera view
- DS PIXELVISION: adaptive, glare-free headlights with a beam range of roughly 1,700 feet (520 m)
- DS NIGHT VISION: infrared pedestrian and animal detection to nearly 1,000 feet (300 m)
Connected Charging Services
E-TENSE versions add EV Routing, which plans trips using live vehicle data, traffic, and desired arrival charge level and can filter for Plug & Charge-compatible stops; standard battery preconditioning paired with a heat pump; and the MyDS app for route planning. The PLUG & CHARGE feature removes manual identification and payment steps at compatible stations, drawing on the Free2move Charge network, which DS Automobiles says spans more than 800,000 charging points in Europe, including over 135,000 rapid chargers. E-TENSE models also support V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) for powering external devices from the traction battery.

Two configurations carry monthly lease alternatives in France: HYBRID base from €495/month, and E-TENSE FWD LONG RANGE LA PREMIÈRE from €765/month, both on 36-month terms with a 30,000 km allowance; the E-TENSE lease figure includes a €4,800 CEE incentive, a French energy-savings-certificate subsidy. Several PALLAS, ÉTOILE, and LA PREMIÈRE E-TENSE FWD and FWD LONG RANGE prices reflect the base trim plus an option pack rather than a distinct factory trim, and are also available in the BUSINESS LINE fleet program at the same price.
