Comemso, a recognized technology leader in charging infrastructure testing, has announced the official sales launch of its next-generation testing device, the Easy Chester Gen. 2. This new system builds upon the success of the Easy-Chester product family, which has been a global standard for professionals testing AC and DC charging stations since 2016. The Easy Chester Gen. 2 aims to provide enhanced capabilities for the reliable and comprehensive testing of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).

Key Highlights:

  • Supports DC load simulation up to 60 kW (Pro version).
  • Enables testing of 800V charging systems, crucial for high-power chargers.
  • Features a revised, more intuitive user interface for easier operation.
  • Offers three distinct equipment variants: Basic, Extended, and Pro.
  • Includes modular hardware architecture with interchangeable electronic cassettes.
  • Supports VDE-compliant testing with an optional comISO module (available Q4/2025).
  • Retains proven features like long-term tests and targeted fault simulations.

The Easy Chester Gen. 2 is engineered as a mobile functional test device for both AC and DC charging stations. It comprehensively simulates an electric vehicle‘s communication, eliminating the need for an actual vehicle during testing. The device supports a wide array of relevant communication protocols, including DIN 70121, ISO 15118, and IEC 61851-1 for CCS and NACS charging standards. Additionally, it supports CHAdeMO protocols up to and including version 2.0, ensuring broad compatibility with existing and emerging charging technologies.

Typical application scenarios for the Easy Chester Gen. 2 are diverse, spanning the entire lifecycle of a charging station. These include initial commissioning, recurring tests for quality assurance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, technical support, and repair operations. The device allows technicians to easily and safely test the function, communication, and safety behavior of a charging station directly on-site, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

The new Easy Chester Gen. 2 introduces several significant enhancements. A key upgrade is its capability to test 800V charging systems, a vital feature for modern high-power chargers. The Pro version further extends its power by allowing DC load simulation with up to 60 kW. Users will also benefit from a revised and more intuitive user interface, simplifying operation. Intelligent features such as automatic detection of the connected plug type and connected DC loads, along with an improved PDF report function, further streamline the testing process.

Comemso has designed the Easy Chester Gen. 2 with flexibility in mind, offering three equipment variants: Basic, Extended, and Pro. This tiered approach, combined with a modular hardware architecture featuring interchangeable electronic cassettes, allows users to select a system that precisely matches their requirements. Furthermore, software upgrades enable specific functions to be expanded as needs evolve. Proven capabilities from the previous generation, such as extensive long-term tests and targeted fault simulations (e.g., communication faults or insulation faults for AC/DC), are retained. An optional comISO module, available from Q4/2025, will permit additional VDE-compliant tests.

The official sales launch of the Easy Chester Gen. 2 marks another step in comemso’s commitment to innovation in the EV charging infrastructure sector. By providing a more powerful, flexible, and user-friendly testing solution, comemso continues to support the growing demands for reliable EVSE. This development aligns with the company’s guiding principle: “First on the market. First on innovation.”
