Einride, a technology firm specializing in freight solutions, has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with PostNord AS. The collaboration will double the scale of electrified transport operations in Norway, marking a substantial step forward in sustainable logistics for the region.
Key Highlights
- Einride and PostNord have doubled their electric freight operations in Norway.
- The partnership now covers 1.3 million zero-emission kilometers annually around the Oslo region.
- The expansion utilizes Einride’s connected electric trucks and its Saga AI platform for logistics optimization.
- This move supports PostNord’s objective to become entirely fossil-free by 2030.
A Strategic Partnership Expansion
Building on a successful collaboration initiated in 2023, the expanded operations will cover key logistics routes in and around Oslo. The initial deployment resulted in a projected 2,100 tonnes of CO₂e savings over three years. By doubling the amount of electrified transport kilometers, the partnership anticipates a significant increase in emissions reductions.
Roozbeh Charli, CEO of Einride, stated that the company’s growth strategy is rooted in deep, scalable partnerships. “Norway continues to lead by example in the transition to electric transportation, and we’re proud to deepen our impact here together with a forward-thinking partner like PostNord,” Charli noted.
Advanced Technology Driving Efficiency
The operations are powered by Einride’s intelligent freight mobility ecosystem. This system combines connected electric trucks with the Einride Saga AI planning optimization tool, a digital platform that optimizes freight movement for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This integrated approach is central to the partnership’s success.
Supporting Sustainability Goals
PostNord is a leading provider of parcel and logistics services in the Nordics, handling 35% of all parcel shipments in the region. The company has a firm goal of becoming fossil-free by 2030.
“Our partnership with Einride allows us to take meaningful strides toward sustainable and cost efficient logistics,” said May-Kristin S. Willoch, Head of Environment & DPO at PostNord Norway. “With the expansion, a majority of our regional fleet in Norway is now fully electric.”
Pioneering Autonomous Transport
In a related achievement, Einride and PostNord completed the world’s first cabless, electric, autonomous cross-border delivery in September 2025. This historic milestone, part of the EU co-funded MODI project, demonstrated the seamless integration of autonomous technologies into cross-border parcel transportation and customs clearance, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing sustainable freight solutions.
