Einride will deploy electric heavy-duty trucks on a 160-kilometer refrigerated freight route for Scan Sverige, Sweden’s leading meat producer, taking over a corridor that carries roughly 25 percent of the producer’s chilled outbound volume. The partnership covers temperature-controlled transport between Linköping and Eskilstuna, a segment Einride describes as among the hardest to decarbonize because of strict delivery schedules, high energy demands, and reliability requirements. Replacing the conventional diesel trucks on the route is expected to cut emissions by approximately 860 tonnes of CO₂e per year.
Highlights
- The Linköping–Eskilstuna corridor carries approximately 25 percent of Scan Sverige’s refrigerated outbound volume from its Linköping distribution center.
- Switching from diesel to electric trucks is expected to reduce emissions by about 860 tonnes of CO₂e annually, according to Einride.
- The trucks run on a roughly 160-kilometer route and are rated for a 64-tonne gross combined weight.
- Einride reports more than 30 enterprise customers across seven countries and about $92 million in expected annual recurring revenue from signed contracts.
Deploying Electric Trucks on a Critical Refrigerated Route
Einride is putting electric heavy-duty trucks on one of Scan Sverige’s most important refrigerated transport routes, the approximately 160-kilometer corridor between Linköping and Eskilstuna. The trucks are rated to handle a 64-tonne gross combined weight and will operate on a route that accounts for about 25 percent of Scan Sverige’s refrigerated outbound volume from its Linköping distribution center. By replacing diesel trucks on the corridor, Scan Sverige expects to reduce emissions by approximately 860 tonnes of CO₂e each year.
“The addition of Scan Sverige strengthens Einride’s growing portfolio of enterprise customers and highlights the rising demand for scalable, fossil-free freight solutions, especially in regulated, high-volume supply chains such as food and grocery logistics,” said Roozbeh Charli, Chief Executive Officer at Einride. “Einride is uniquely positioned as a category leader in intelligent electric and autonomous freight, helping global shippers transition their logistics while delivering immediate business value.”
How the Trucks Will Charge
Einride’s platform pairs electric heavy-duty vehicles with its Saga AI optimization software and integrated charging infrastructure. The deployment relies on depot charging at Scan Sverige’s Linköping facility, supplemented by opportunity charging at Einride stations along the route. Trucks recharge during mandated driver rest periods to limit downtime.
“At Scan Sverige, transitioning our transportation is an important part of our long-term efforts to achieve our climate targets. Electrifying the route between Linköping and Eskilstuna enables us to continue reducing emissions and contribute to the development of fossil-free transport,” said Elina Matsdotter, Chief Sustainability Officer at Scan Sverige. “Einride’s digital platform and charging infrastructure optimizes the transports for maximum efficiency and lower energy consumption, making Einride strategically important to our transition.”
Einride’s Commercial Position
Founded in 2016, Einride reports more than 30 enterprise customers across seven countries and approximately $92 million in expected annual recurring revenue from signed customer contracts. The company also cites more than $800 million in potential long-term annual recurring revenue through joint business plans with large customers.
In November 2025, Einride and Legato Merger Corp. III (NYSE American: LEGT) entered a business combination agreement that would result in Einride becoming a publicly listed company in the United States. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions; the SEC declared Einride’s Form F-4 registration statement effective in May 2026.
