Unmatched Performance at Shelsley Walsh
At the Shelsley Walsh hill climb, a 914-meter course with a steep 16.7% gradient, development driver Gabriela Jílková piloted the camouflaged prototype to a record time of 31.28 seconds. The vehicle’s Porsche Active Ride system ensured a level body during dynamic maneuvers, delivering exceptional precision. Jílková noted the course’s unforgiving nature, yet the active chassis instilled complete confidence. The prototype also achieved a remarkable 1.94-second sprint to the 60-yard mark, rivaling single-seater racing cars.

Practicality Meets Power
Beyond performance, the Cayenne Electric excels in utility. During a film shoot, British TV presenter Richard Hammond towed a two-ton classic car effortlessly, demonstrating the vehicle’s robust towing capacity of up to 7,716 lbs.. This capability aligns with Porsche’s commitment to maintaining the Cayenne’s renowned versatility. Michael Schätzle, Vice President of the Product Line Cayene, emphasized that the electric model makes no compromises on everyday usability.
Innovative Technology for Dynamic Driving
The Porsche Active Ride system sets the Cayenne Electric apart, balancing driving dynamics and ride comfort. By distributing wheel loads optimally, it ensures a stable connection to the road, even under intense conditions. Schätzle highlighted that the prototype’s drive power and equipment are already at production level, with final tuning underway to refine its performance further.

A Versatile Addition to the Cayenne Lineup
Porsche continues to offer gasoline and hybrid Cayenne models, ensuring customer choice into the next decade. However, the Cayenne Electric leverages electrification to set new performance benchmarks. Its ability to combine sportiness, comfort, and practicality makes it a compelling option for SUV enthusiasts.
Looking Ahead
The Cayenne Electric’s appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed will offer enthusiasts a closer look at this groundbreaking SUV. As Porsche finalizes its development, the vehicle is poised to redefine expectations for electric SUVs, blending record-breaking performance with uncompromised utility.
