Commercial Trailer Leasing, Inc. (CTL), a renowned entity in the leasing industry, has recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with Orange EV. This collaboration is set to bring a fleet of pure-electric, zero-emission yard trucks to various sectors across the United States, marking a significant step in sustainable transportation within the food distribution and logistics industries.
The partnership centers around the deployment of Orange EV’s e-TRIEVER® yard trucks, which boast an impressive 81,000 lb. GCWR. These vehicles are designed to operate in extreme conditions, with a functional environmental temperature range spanning from -40 F° to 120 F°. Notably, the e-TRIEVER 4×2 model features a 122-inch wheelbase and maintains a remarkable 98-99% average uptime, demonstrating Orange EV’s commitment to delivering solutions that do not compromise on size or speed, while adhering to zero emissions standards.

The transition from traditional diesel yard trucks to the e-TRIEVER electric trucks aligns with broader sustainability goals, offering numerous advantages. These include reduced driver fatigue, enhanced safety, and lower turnover rates. Drivers benefit from the immediate heating and cooler cab environments in varying temperatures, coupled with the absence of diesel emissions, diminished vibration, and less maintenance.

Fleets can save between $20,000 – $90,000 annually per truck due to reduced fuel costs, emissions control elimination, and savings in powertrain and brake maintenance. Additional savings are seen in decreased downtime and operator turnover costs, thanks to the safer working conditions provided by EV yard trucks.
