Located at London Gatwick’s South Terminal, GRIDSERVE’s Electric Forecourt® is a pioneering EV charging facility, featuring 30 charging bays powered by 100% net zero energy. Its strategic position near the M23 and Ring Road South ensures accessibility for Addison Lee’s fleet, optimizing fleet management and reducing charging times. This setup allows Addison Lee to maintain high service standards while transitioning to a fully electric fleet, including Volkswagen ID.4s and zero-emission VW Multivans.

Addison Lee drivers benefit from tailored perks, including off-peak charging rates, access to rest areas, and exclusive retail offers at Costa during the Forecourt’s extended hours (4:30 AM to 10:00 PM). These features enhance driver comfort and reduce operational costs, fostering a driver-centric approach to sustainable transport.

Daniel Kunkel, CEO of GRIDSERVE, emphasized the partnership’s role in creating a model that benefits drivers, passengers, and the environment. Similarly, Patrick Gallagher, COO of Addison Lee, highlighted the importance of reliable charging infrastructure for sustainable operations. Cedric Laurier, London Gatwick’s Chief Technical Officer, praised the initiative for advancing sustainable travel and supporting local communities.

By combining innovative technology, strategic infrastructure, and a commitment to net zero energy, GRIDSERVE and Addison Lee are setting a new standard for eco-conscious airport transfers, paving the way for broader EV adoption across the UK.
