Hubject, Numocity Partner on Plug&Charge for Emerging Markets

Hubject partners with Numocity to deploy ISO 15118 Plug&Charge technology across India, Asia-Pacific, and Middle East charging networks, enabling frictionless EV authentication for CPOs.

Hubject has announced a strategic partnership with Numocity to integrate ISO 15118-based Plug&Charge technology into Numocity’s charging management platform. The collaboration targets Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and eMobility Service Providers across India, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.

Highlights

  • Partnership integrates Hubject’s Plug&Charge into Numocity’s platform, which powers CPO networks across more than 20 countries
  • CPOs gain single-contract access to automated, app-free charging authentication for compatible vehicles
  • Hubject’s existing partners can leverage Numocity’s platform to enter or expand in India, APAC, and Middle Eastern markets
  • Implementation timeline and rollout details will be announced in the coming months

Partnership Scope and Technical Foundation

The integration leverages Hubject’s ISO 15118 standards to enable secure communication between vehicles and charging infrastructure. CPOs using Numocity’s charging management system can offer drivers frictionless charging with automated vehicle authentication, eliminating the need for apps or RFID cards at compatible stations.

Numocity’s software platform currently operates across more than 20 countries, providing established infrastructure for Hubject’s expansion into high-growth regions.

Strategic Market Focus

India and the Middle East represent some of the fastest-growing EV ecosystems globally. The partnership addresses a common pain point in these markets: fragmented user experiences caused by multiple apps and payment friction.

“This partnership with Numocity marks an important milestone in our global expansion of Plug&Charge technology,” said Christian Hahn, CEO of Hubject. “India and the Middle East are essential to our global ambitions.”

Ravikiran Annaswamy, CEO of Numocity, emphasized the user experience focus: “Our collaboration with Hubject solves this by deploying true Plug&Charge technology, allowing the vehicle and charger to communicate automatically for instant authentication.”

Key Benefits for Stakeholders

  • CPO Enablement: Operators deploy Plug&Charge and scale across target regions without complex implementations
  • Market Entry: Hubject’s existing CPO partners access a proven platform for regional expansion
  • Driver Experience: Automatic authentication eliminates friction for compatible vehicles
  • EV Adoption: Seamless charging experiences support accelerated adoption in emerging markets
