Held annually at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Sheldon, Washington, the NWAPA Mudfest pits 21 vehicles—including crossovers, SUVs, and pickups—against a series of challenges. The first day evaluates on-road attributes like acceleration and handling, while the second day tests off-road capabilities such as traction and suspension performance. The IONIQ 5 XRT excelled in both, impressing judges with its dual-purpose design.

This model introduces XRT-exclusive features, including aggressive bumpers, durable side cladding, and all-terrain tires on 18-inch alloy wheels. Its elevated ride height and tuned suspension enhance its ability to tackle trails while remaining agile on city streets. Tom Voelk, NWAPA president, praised its balance: “The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 XRT offers off-road readiness with all-terrain tires and a lift, yet it’s a blast to drive in urban settings. Its size, range, and fast charging sealed its double victory.”
