JETOUR T Series PHEV Targets Off-Road Hybrid Buyers Globally

JETOUR detailed its T Series plug-in hybrid SUV strategy at Auto China 2026, with the T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM combining a 26.7 kWh battery, bidirectional power output, and intelligent off-road drive modes.

JETOUR Auto used Auto China 2026 to position its T Series plug-in hybrid SUVs as off-road-capable lifestyle vehicles, highlighting a 26.7 kWh battery, bidirectional power output, and the brand’s C-DM and i-DM hybrid systems. The Chinese automaker outlined the strategy in a release published through JETOUR International, which markets the T1 and T2 i-DM models across the Middle East, Africa, and other emerging regions.

Highlights

  • T Series uses C-DM and i-DM plug-in hybrid systems to combine electric efficiency with engine-backed range for off-road use
  • T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM share a 26.7 kWh hybrid-specific battery with 2.2 kW and 6.6 kW external discharge capability
  • T2 i-DM features Fully Automatic Intelligent XWD with “7+X” drive modes, reducing skill barriers for off-road terrain
  • T Series cumulative deliveries surpassed 630,000 units in 31 months and led the boxy SUV segment in nine markets

Hybrid System Targets Range and Reliability

JETOUR built the T Series around hybrid powertrains rather than pure-electric drivetrains, citing the limits of charging infrastructure in remote off-road environments. The C-DM system uses electric drive in urban conditions and engages the engine and multi-gear transmission for sustained loads on long trips and rough terrain.

The flagship T2 i-DM pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with dual electric motors and a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. According to specifications published by Jetour’s UAE distributor, the system produces 375 hp and 610 Nm of torque, with up to 140 km of pure-electric range and a combined range of approximately 800 km. Carsales and Cars.co.za list NEDC pure-electric range at 139 km and 90 km respectively, depending on regional homologation.

The T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM both use a 26.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery built on cell-to-pack architecture. The pack supports 2.2 kW and 6.6 kW external discharge and what JETOUR calls long-duration stationary power supply, allowing the vehicle to power camping equipment, tools, or appliances away from grid connections.

Intelligent Off-Road Controls

The T2 i-DM showcases what JETOUR calls Fully Automatic Intelligent XWD, paired with a “7+X” suite of drive modes. The system automates terrain assessment and drive-mode selection, functions that traditionally required experienced off-road drivers. JETOUR positions the technology as a way to broaden the addressable market for off-road-capable SUVs beyond enthusiasts.

The Auto China 2026 stand featured live test drives of the T2 i-DM through cone-and-bump courses, demonstrating the vehicle’s wading depth and articulation. Independent specifications cite a 700 mm wading depth, 28-degree approach angle, 30-degree departure angle, and 220 mm ground clearance for the platform.

Global Sales and Market Position

JETOUR reported cumulative T Series deliveries above 630,000 units across 31 months, naming the line as the brand’s flagship range. The series leads the boxy SUV segment in nine countries and regions, with Qatar, the UAE, and Egypt cited specifically. JETOUR also confirmed plans to expand its “Travel+” strategy through additional new energy product introductions and broader global distribution.

The T2 i-DM launched in South Africa in April 2026 as the brand’s most expensive variant in that market, and Australian distributors are evaluating it as a launch model for the brand’s entry into that market in 2027.
