Kempower, GET Charged Deploy 80 Ports in New York

Kempower and GET Charged Fast EV Charging are deploying 80 DC fast charging ports across five New York locations, with the first Queens station now open and four more scheduled for early 2026.

Kempower and GET Charged Fast EV Charging have launched their first DC fast charging station at Glen Oaks Shopping Center in Queens, New York. Four additional stations across Queens and Long Island are nearing completion, bringing 80 total charging ports to the region in early 2026.

Highlights

  • First station now operational at Glen Oaks Shopping Center (259-01 Union Turnpike, Glen Oaks, NY 11004), with four more sites opening in Whitestone, Levittown, Elmont, and Commack
  • 80 charging ports across five locations, each featuring eight dual Kempower Satellites with NACS and CCS1 connectors
  • Retail-centered strategy places all stations in shopping centers with grocery stores, restaurants, and local businesses
  • No membership required with flexible payment options and free Wi-Fi at all locations

Station Configuration and Connector Standards

Each of the five locations will deploy eight dual Kempower Satellite charging units. The hardware supports both NACS and CCS1 connector standards, accommodating the broadening range of EV models operating in the New York market.

Kempower’s distributed charging architecture allows power to be allocated dynamically across connected vehicles, optimizing throughput during peak usage periods.

Retail Integration Model

GET Charged positions its stations exclusively at shopping centers, enabling drivers to complete errands during charging sessions. The company’s model focuses on high-traffic urban retail locations where rideshare drivers and local commuters generate consistent demand.

“Globally, EV drivers increasingly prefer charging spots with access to a variety of services like the GET Charged retail-centered charging hubs,” said Monil Malhotra, President of Kempower North America.

Accessibility and Payment

The stations are designed to minimize friction for first-time users. No dedicated apps or memberships are required to initiate charging sessions. Payment options include multiple methods, and all locations provide complimentary Wi-Fi access.

“GET Charged is committed to providing fast, safe, and dependable charging infrastructure,” said Marc Horowitz, Co-Managing Partner at GET Charged Fast EV Charging. “Kempower is the ideal partner for supplying innovative, world-class charging hardware to meet the fast-charging needs of the region.”

Expansion Timeline

The Glen Oaks location is currently operational. The remaining four sites in Whitestone (Queens), Levittown, Elmont, and Commack are scheduled to open in early 2026.
