Kia Vision Meta Turismo Wins Red Dot Award

Kia Corporation has won a Red Dot Award 2026: Design Concept honor for the Vision Meta Turismo, recognized in the Cars and Motorcycles category following its Milan Design Week debut.

Kia Corporation has won a Red Dot Award 2026: Design Concept for the Vision Meta Turismo, with the futuristic sports sedan concept recognized in the Cars and Motorcycles category. The recognition from the international design body reflects Kia’s continued application of its “Opposites United” design philosophy to progressive, human-centered mobility solutions. Having made its global debut at Milan Design Week, the Vision Meta Turismo reinterprets the grand tourer for the digital age, combining a cab-forward silhouette with a lounge-inspired interior. The concept pairs dynamic driving performance with immersive digital interaction, reflecting Kia’s approach to a new era of electric mobility.

Highlights

  • Kia Vision Meta Turismo earns Red Dot Award 2026: Design Concept recognition in the Cars and Motorcycles category
  • The concept made its global debut at Milan Design Week, following an earlier reveal in Korea
  • Three configurable driving modes — Speedster, Dreamer and Gamer — shape the concept’s digital interaction experience
  • The recognition builds on Kia’s Red Dot Award record, which includes “Best of the Best” wins for the EV6 (2022), EV9 (2024), EV3 (2025) and EV4 (2026)

Exterior and Interior Design

The Vision Meta Turismo’s exterior combines an extreme cab-forward architecture with a soft geometric surface language, creating what Kia describes as a modern, technical and futuristic piece of sculpture. The result is a dynamic sports sedan that conveys speed and technology alongside a new dimension of user experience, according to the company.

Inside, the concept elevates driving to what Kia calls a multisensory level. Digital layers, intuitive physical controls and configurable experience modes combine to create a grand tourer for the digital age, transforming electric mobility into what the company describes as a more deeply emotional and engaging experience. The car brings together three core experiences:

  • Performance driving, expressed through sports sedan proportions and a focused driver cockpit
  • Immersive digital interaction, delivered through configurable modes and augmented digital layers
  • Lounge-like space and comfort, reflected in a passenger zone designed for comfort and relaxation

How Does the Vision Meta Turismo Use Digital Interaction?

The concept’s driver cockpit is designed for focus, control and immersion, while the passenger area emphasizes comfort and AR content viewed through a 3D head-up display. Kia’s Add-Gear modular interface connects occupants to the vehicle through configurable functions, combining physical controls with digital layers to make interaction more intuitive.

The Vision Meta Turismo also features three configurable driving modes:

  • Speedster heightens the sensation of performance driving through visual, sound and lighting effects
  • Dreamer uses digital layers to create a reflective, immersive urban experience
  • Gamer extends the connection between driver and vehicle into stationary, gaming-inspired moments

Executive Reaction

Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, said: “It is always an honor for everyone at Kia to receive a prestigious Red Dot Award, as it reflects the creativity, commitment and dedication of the countless people involved. The Vision Meta Turismo represents an opportunity for us to experiment, challenge ourselves, and imagine future user experiences through design. It’s rewarding to see that work resonate with the jury, and motivating to see our ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy continue to connect with people around the world through our vision of future mobility.”

Red Dot Award: Design Concept, established in 2005, recognizes design concepts that could shape future products, according to the organization.

Kia’s Red Dot Award Track Record

The Vision Meta Turismo recognition adds to a run of Red Dot honors for Kia. In the 2025 Red Dot Award: Design Concept, the Kia PV5 WKNDR Concept was named “Best of the Best,” while the Concept PV1, Concept EV2, Concept PV5 and Concept PV7 each received “Winner” accolades — a record that continued into 2026, when the Kia EV4 took the Red Dot Award: Product Design “Best of the Best” distinction. Kia’s “Best of the Best” winners also include the EV6 (2022), EV9 (2024) and EV3 (2025).

The Vision Meta Turismo’s win in the Design Concept category follows other 2026 recognitions in that category, including the iCAUR V23’s Red Dot Design Concept win.
