LionBattery packs are Lion’s new in-house engineered and manufactured 800V battery packs. The unveiling took place during the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, one of the largest conferences and trade shows highlighting advanced transportation technologies and clean fuels.

The Lion5 has a maximum payload of up to 12,500 lbs and is scheduled for production before the end of the year. It offers configurations of 19,500 lbs up to 26,000 lbs (Class 6) GVWR, with 315 HP, 2,360 lb-ft of torque, and a GCWR of up to 30,000 lbs. The truck features a low center of gravity, well-balanced weight distribution, and adaptive auto leveling 4-wheel independent suspension system for a premium ride and handling performance.

In terms of design, the Lion5’s cab is 96-inches wide and has a cutaway configuration option for seamless passthrough between the cab and body upfit. The steps have been engineered for immediate visibility and ease of entering and exiting. The truck can be upfitted with any suitable body application, providing flexibility for body builders.
