Medisort, a key player in clinical waste management, has partnered with BEDEO to transform its X250 vans into Reborn Electric RE-100 Range Extender models. This initiative is part of Medisort’s strategic efforts to minimize its environmental impact by integrating electric vehicle technology into its operations, recognizing the integral role of sustainable practices within the circular economy.

Key Highlights

  • Partnership with BEDEO: Medisort has chosen BEDEO’s technology to convert its fleet to electric, starting with its X250 vans.
  • RE-100 Range Extender: This technology allows the vans to operate efficiently in electric-only mode within urban areas and switch to diesel for longer distances.
  • Phased Implementation: The adoption of the RE-100 technology will occur in stages, ensuring a seamless transition with the first van already operational.
  • Sustainability Commitment: By adopting electric solutions, Medisort is significantly reducing its carbon footprint and aligning with global sustainability goals.

Medisort’s Selection of BEDEO’s Retrofit Program

To enhance its fleet’s efficiency and sustainability, Medisort has implemented BEDEO’s Reborn Electric RE-100 Range Extender solution, making it the latest to join BEDEO’s growing list of partners in the electric mobility sector. This move underscores both Medisort’s and BEDEO’s leadership in advocating for environmentally friendly solutions within their respective industries.

Technology Behind RE-100

BEDEO’s innovative RE-100 solution includes two in-wheel motors and a 37 kWh battery, designed and produced by BEDEO’s subsidiary, Protean Electric. The integration of this technology allows existing diesel vans to maintain their original cargo capacity and setup while extending their operational life and reducing emissions.

Statements from Corporate Leaders

Stuart Brittle, Medisort’s Managing Director, emphasized the strategic advantage of the retrofit, stating, “The ability to upgrade and electrify our existing fleet without changing our rear cargo fit-out is key for us to keep our operations running effectively and efficiently.” He highlighted the importance of this transition for supporting vulnerable communities sustainably.

Osman Boyner, CEO and Founder of BEDEO, added, “Companies like Medisort serve as the backbone of countless communities, and it’s imperative that they sustainably continue their vital services well into the future.”

Future Prospects and Expansion

With the successful integration of the first RE-100 van, Medisort plans to continue this approach throughout its fleet. This strategic decision not only supports the company’s sustainability goals but also places it at the forefront of adopting advanced technologies in waste management.
