The rollout begins with 20 key locations, such as Camelback Colonnade in Phoenix, AZ, and Shops at Pembroke Gardens in Pembroke Pines, FL. Each site will offer up to 10 charging stalls with 400 kW charging speeds, ensuring compatibility with both CCS-1 and NACS-equipped vehicles. The first chargers are expected to be operational in 2026, delivering a cohesive and reliable charging experience.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to quality and innovation. Federal Realty’s portfolio of vibrant, open-air shopping centers, like Santana Row and Pike & Rose, provides ideal locations for EV chargers, aligning with drivers’ preferences for convenient, lifestyle-integrated charging. As Andrew Cornelia, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz HPC North America, noted, “Charging isn’t just about power—it’s about place.” This partnership ensures chargers are strategically placed where people shop and socialize.
Unlike traditional EV charging installations, this portfolio-driven model allows rapid scaling while maintaining consistency. Mercedes-Benz HPC, already operating over 400 stalls across 14 states, plans to expand to 2,500 stalls by 2027 with a $1 billion investment. Federal Realty, with its 57-year dividend growth record, enhances its retail properties with this forward-looking amenity, reinforcing its position as a leader in high-quality retail environments.
