EV charging platform Monta has announced the launch of its AI-powered Network Operation Centre Agent (NOC Agent), a new tool designed to transform charging network operations through automation. The company is deploying the technology across its platform to deliver reliability at scale and make autonomous operations a reality for charge point operators.
Key Highlights
- Monta introduced its new AI-powered Network Operation Centre (NOC) Agent to automate EV charging network management.
- The technology is built on one of the industry’s largest data sets, including 220,000 connected charge points and millions of monthly charging sessions.
- In one case, an operator improved a DC charger’s success rate from 31.2% to 98.3% in just 25 seconds of analysis with the NOC Agent.
- The agent reduces hours of manual investigation into seconds by instantly pinpointing root causes and suggesting fixes.
- Monta’s existing AI already resolves 75% of customer support tickets before they reach a human agent.
AI Agent Transforms Troubleshooting
The NOC Agent is Monta’s first AI feature developed specifically for network operations. Instead of operators manually analyzing thousands of logs, firmware histories, and hardware manuals, the AI Agent can identify root causes, provide evidence, and recommend solutions instantly.
This technology significantly reduces troubleshooting time. For example, an operator in the U.S. used the NOC Agent to diagnose a recurring failure on a DC charger. The agent identified a firmware mismatch, allowing the operator to resolve the issue immediately and restore reliability. This process, which would have previously required hours of technical investigation, was completed in seconds.
“Troubleshooting used to mean long nights with engineers digging through endless logs,” said Casper Rasmussen, CEO and Co-Founder of Monta. “With the NOC Agent, those hours turn into seconds. It’s not just about fixing chargers faster—it’s about redefining what operational excellence looks like in EV charging.”
Leveraging AI at Scale
Monta has embedded AI across its platform, supported by a unique data backbone that includes 220,000 connected charge points, 3 million monthly sessions, over 700 hardware models, and 14,000 monthly support requests. The company’s AI models continuously learn from every charging session, firmware update, and user interaction, making the platform progressively smarter and more autonomous.
Rasmussen emphasized Monta’s competitive advantage in this area. “Every AI use case we’ve built got 10x better with full-stack access,” he stated. “Monta has an unfair data advantage—and that’s exactly why our AI delivers real results in production while others are still experimenting.”
The Future of Charging Operations
With this advancement, Monta aims to shift the role of charge point operators from reactive troubleshooting to focusing on strategic initiatives like partnerships and customer growth. The integration of AI allows smaller teams to manage thousands of chargers with greater efficiency and quality than ever before.
“Every industry has its inflection point where automation moves from optional to essential. In EV charging, that moment is now,” Rasmussen added. “Operators should no longer ask how many people they need to run a network—they should ask how small a team can run thousands of chargers with better quality than before. That is the future Monta is building.”
