Dag Ødegaard, a resident of Lier, Norway, recently made history by becoming the country’s first owner of an electric Ford F-150 Lightning. His passion for Ford F-Series trucks, sparked during his travels in the U.S., has now materialized into owning a model that combines traditional American muscle with modern electric vehicle technology.

Ødegaard’s acquisition of the F-150 Lightning is a testament to his deep-rooted affinity for American culture, further emphasized by his marriage to a Texan and his business centered around American grilling and barbecue equipment. “This is a dream vehicle for us especially as we love the USA and Texas so much,” Ødegaard expressed, highlighting the truck’s capacity to comfortably accommodate his family’s needs while embracing eco-friendly technology.

The F-150 Lightning Lariat Launch Edition, chosen by Ødegaard, is painted in Antimatter Blue Metallic and equipped with a standard range battery. This configuration is expected to offer up to 429km of range (WLTP), ensuring efficiency alongside robust performance.

Per Gunnar Berg, CEO of Ford Motor Norway, marked the occasion as a significant milestone for the company in the country. “This is an important day for Ford in Norway,” he stated, underlining the F-150 Lightning’s status as one of the most anticipated electric vehicles globally. Norway’s distinction as the first market outside America to introduce the F-150 Lightning underscores Ford’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle footprint internationally.

Ford’s initiative to deliver the F-150 Lightning to Norwegian customers is seen as a move to redefine the electric vehicle landscape in the region. Berg is optimistic about introducing this all-electric truck, which boasts unparalleled size, strength, and capability compared to other offerings on the Norwegian market. The F-150 Lightning’s dual role as both a family and work vehicle further enhances its appeal, promising a versatile driving experience that resonates with Norwegian consumers.
