Pionix GmbH, a leader in open-source technology for electric vehicle (EV) charging, has launched ChargeBridge, a revolutionary hardware solution aimed at transforming how EV charging controllers are developed. Announced on May 7, 2025, this modular, pre-certified hardware simplifies the creation of advanced charging systems by separating safety-critical components from software logic. It enables manufacturers to innovate quickly and bring products to market faster, supporting the growing demand for efficient EV infrastructure.

ChargeBridge is a compact module that handles essential hardware tasks, such as managing EV connections and safety protocols like ISO 15118. Its pre-certified status reduces the need for manufacturers to develop and certify their own hardware. Paired with BaseCamp, Pionix’s software built on the EVerest project, it allows developers to focus on creating smart charging features without hardware hassles.
This design speeds up development by letting manufacturers update software independently. It also simplifies wiring and adapts to various charging needs.
