Polestar 4 SUV Confirmed, Sales Start September 2

Polestar has confirmed the Polestar 4 SUV, a more practical variant of the Polestar 4 coupé, with sales starting September 2, up to 391 miles (630 km) WLTP range, and 544 hp.

Polestar will open sales of the new Polestar 4 SUV on September 2, 2026, expanding its Polestar 4 line with a variant offering up to 391 miles (630 km) of WLTP range in Rear motor form. The Swedish electric performance brand confirmed the Polestar 4 SUV as a more practical companion to the Polestar 4 coupé, retaining the design, performance, and sustainability credentials of the existing model while adding versatile storage for every journey.

Highlights

  • Sales of the Polestar 4 SUV are planned to start September 2, 2026, in a majority of Polestar markets.
  • Rear motor variants deliver up to 391 miles (630 km) of WLTP range, according to Polestar.
  • Dual motor variants produce up to 544 hp on the model’s proven 400 V architecture.
  • The new SUV is manufactured in Busan, South Korea.

A More Practical Polestar 4

The new variant builds on the Polestar 4 coupé, adding a layer of flexibility and practicality aimed at customers who want more versatility from the model. Polestar says the SUV keeps the character that defines the coupé while expanding choice in the segment.

Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, says: “Polestar 4 has quickly established itself as a favourite among our customers, and we’ve seen strong demand from drivers who want distinctive design and performance combined with great practicality. With Polestar 4 SUV, we’re building on that success by offering even more versatility, while staying true to the Polestar 4 character. Wrapped in a stunning design, this is a car I’ve been looking forward to sharing with the world.”

Retuned Chassis, Familiar Architecture

Both the Polestar 4 SUV and the latest Polestar 4 coupé receive retuned chassis components intended to sharpen the models’ sporty driving dynamics. The 400 V electrical architecture carries over, with the company reporting up to 391 miles (630 km) of WLTP range in Rear motor variants and up to 544 hp in Dual motor models. The range figure reflects the European WLTP test cycle; EPA ratings for North America typically come in lower.

Production and Availability

The Polestar 4 SUV is built in Busan, South Korea, and will be available to order in a majority of Polestar markets when sales begin.
