Porsche has expanded its network of exclusive charging facilities by opening its inaugural Charging Lounge in Switzerland. This addition enhances the brand’s commitment to supporting electric vehicle owners with premium, high-speed charging options in a comfortable environment.
Key Highlights
- Six fast-charging points available, each delivering up to 400 kW for rapid recharging of Porsche electric models.
- Located in Signy-Avenex, Canton of Vaud, joining existing lounges in Germany and Austria.
- Amenities include lounge chairs, refreshments, free Wi-Fi, and modern sanitary facilities for a relaxing experience.
- Integrated with the award-winning My Porsche app, which simplifies access and navigation.
- Part of Porsche’s broader strategy to bolster electric mobility in key markets like Switzerland.

Advanced Charging Capabilities
The new Swiss Charging Lounge features six high-performance charging stations capable of 400 kW output. This allows Porsche drivers to maximize their vehicles’ fast-charging potential. For instance, a current-generation Taycan can recharge from 10% to 80% state of charge in just 18 minutes, while a Macan achieves the same in 21 minutes. These speeds make long-distance travel more convenient for electric vehicle enthusiasts, reducing downtime and enhancing overall usability.
Porsche’s electric models, such as the Taycan Sport Turismo, boast impressive efficiency with electric power consumption ranging from 17.6 to 19.9 kWh/100 km under WLTP standards and zero CO2 emissions, earning an A class rating. This underscores the brand’s focus on sustainable performance without compromising driving dynamics.
Premium Amenities and Design
Beyond charging, the lounge prioritizes comfort. Outdoor seating areas with integrated speakers provide a serene atmosphere, while indoors, visitors enjoy comfortable seating, a variety of snacks and beverages, a coffee machine, and a water dispenser. High-speed Wi-Fi is complimentary, allowing drivers to work or relax during sessions.
The facility follows a modular design developed with Studio F.A. Porsche, ensuring a consistent aesthetic across locations like those in Hamburg and Leonberg. Environmentally conscious features include a heat pump for heating and cooling, plus a rooftop photovoltaic system that generates a portion of the required electricity. This eco-friendly approach aligns with Porsche’s sustainability goals in electric mobility.

Strategic Expansion in Switzerland
Switzerland represents a vital market for Porsche, with over 5,000 vehicles registered in 2024, reflecting growing demand for the brand’s sports cars and electric offerings. The Charging Lounge supports Porsche Schweiz AG, headquartered in Rotkreuz, Canton of Zug, which oversees a network of 14 Porsche Centres, a Porsche Studio, and five Porsche Service Centres. Approximately 60 employees contribute to operations, emphasizing the company’s investment in the region.
Access requires a Porsche ID, with seamless entry via license plate recognition when linked through the My Porsche app. This app recently earned top honors in an Auto Bild ranking, excelling in pricing, usability, and network coverage among 52 tested services.
Growing Charging Ecosystem
The lounge integrates with the Porsche Charging Service, offering access to over 900,000 charging points across more than 25 countries in Europe, including nearly 75,000 DC points exceeding 150 kW. Partnerships enhance value, such as with IONITY, providing over 750 fast-charging sites and 4,500 points.
New additions include GOFAST as a Preferred Partner in Switzerland, operating around 90 fast-charging stations along major routes, with plans to expand to over 200 locations. Another partner, Allego, contributes more than 3,000 charging points, allowing Porsche customers discounted rates of 0.39/kWh at select sites.
This expansion strengthens Porsche’s electric infrastructure, making sustainable driving more accessible.
Porsche continues to innovate in electric mobility, blending high-performance engineering with user-centric facilities to meet the evolving needs of EV owners worldwide.
