PowerGo, a prominent Charge Point Operator (CPO), has announced the opening of a new public fast-charging hub at the Basic-Fit Ekeren location in Antwerp, Belgium. Situated conveniently next to the A12 highway, the new facility provides a valuable charging solution for gym members and electric vehicle (EV) drivers traveling through the area.

- New Location: PowerGo has launched a public fast-charging hub at Basic-Fit Ekeren in Antwerp, located at Slijkweg 5, 2180 Antwerp, Belgium.
- Charger Specifications: The site is equipped with two 150 kilowatt (kW) fast-charging points and five 30 kW charging points.
- Strategic Partnership: This installation is part of an ongoing partnership between PowerGo and Basic-Fit that began in 2023 to deploy charging solutions at gym locations.
- Dynamic Pricing: EV drivers can access fair and transparent pricing based on current hourly electricity rates through the free PowerGo Charge app.
- Renewable Energy: All PowerGo charging stations are powered by 100% solar energy generated by its parent company, PowerField.
A Tailored Charging Hub
The collaboration between PowerGo and Basic-Fit aims to offer practical and efficient services. The new hub allows Basic-Fit members to charge their vehicles while they work out. Officials from Basic-Fit noted that the service is a valuable and sustainable addition that aligns with the company’s goals.
The combination of different charger speeds is designed to meet the diverse needs of EV drivers, accommodating both quick stops for travelers and longer charging sessions for gym patrons. This project marks another successful installation in the ongoing partnership to expand charging infrastructure in the Netherlands and Belgium.
A Green Charging Solution
PowerGo utilizes a dynamic pricing model tied to the hourly cost of electricity. This system encourages drivers to charge during off-peak hours when more clean energy is available on the grid, resulting in a greener and more affordable charging experience. Users can view real-time pricing information for the next 24 hours in the PowerGo Charge app.
The company’s commitment to sustainability is further reinforced by its energy source. PowerGo is a subsidiary of PowerField, a Dutch organization specializing in solar energy. All energy supplied to the charging network comes directly from PowerField’s solar parks.
