National Auto Fleet Group (NAFG) has partnered with Motiv Electric Trucks to make Class 4–6 electric step vans, box trucks, and buses available to public sector fleets nationwide through a Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract.
Highlights
- Sourcewell access: Enables public fleets to purchase Motiv electric trucks at pre-negotiated prices through NAFG.
- Proven reliability: Nearly 450 Motiv vehicles have logged more than 6 million zero-emission miles.
- Municipal adoption: Los Angeles expands its Motiv fleet to seven battery-electric trucks.
- Fleet efficiency: Motiv’s 127 kWh EPIC 4 trucks deliver up to 115 miles of range, extendable to 200 miles with DC fast charging.
Expanding Access to Electric Fleet Solutions
Through the partnership, cities, counties, and state agencies can acquire Motiv’s electric step vans, buses, and trucks without undergoing lengthy bidding processes. NAFG’s Sourcewell contract allows streamlined procurement and competitive pricing across thousands of eligible member organizations.
“Cities, counties and states across the country are recognizing the significant health, environmental and operational benefits of electric trucks and buses,” said Scott Griffith, CEO of Motiv Electric Trucks. “Our partnership with NAFG now gives public fleets an efficient and cost-effective way to purchase Motiv electric vehicles through Sourcewell.”
Demonstrated Performance and Growing Demand
Motiv’s vehicles are already operating with major commercial fleets such as Purolator, Vestis, Cintas, and Bimbo Bakeries, demonstrating long-term dependability and reduced operating costs. The City of Los Angeles recently added five more Motiv electric stake-bed trucks, built on the EPIC 4 platform, featuring a 127 kWh battery and fast-charging capability for extended daily operations.
“We are seeing increasing demand for electric work trucks and buses across our portfolio,” said Randy Lester, Fleet Sales Director at NAFG. “The addition of Motiv vehicles will make it easy and efficient for our customers to electrify their fleets.”
Motiv’s Path Toward Market Leadership
Founded in 2009, Motiv Electric Trucks is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and manufactures medium-duty zero-emission trucks and buses for urban and vocational applications. Its vehicles help public and private customers meet sustainability goals while reducing fuel and maintenance costs.
Motiv and Workhorse Group Inc. announced a merger agreement on August 15, 2025, expected to close in Q4 2025, to form a leading North American medium-duty electric truck OEM.
