Renault will unveil the E-Space Concept, an electric family vehicle that revives the spirit of the original 1984 Espace, at its Paris Motor Show press conference on October 12, 2026. The concept is 15.4 feet (4.70 m) long and finished in a black paint shade Renault calls “black rubé.” The company says it will show the car alongside a renewed range of fully electric and full hybrid models, two more concept cars, and its light commercial vehicle (LCV) lineup. Renault will stream the press conference from its stand in Hall 6 at 8:30 a.m. CET.
Highlights
- E-Space Concept: 15.4 feet (4.70 m) long, debuting worldwide on October 12, 2026
- Megane E-Tech electric: new 67 kWh LFP battery, up to 310 miles (500 km) of range, and 15–80% DC charging in 24 minutes
- LFP rollout: lithium iron phosphate batteries coming to every Renault E-Tech electric passenger car, from 27.5 kWh in Twingo to 67 kWh in Megane and Scenic
- Renault 5 Turbo 3E: 555 hp and 3,540 lb-ft (4,800 Nm) of torque from two rear in-wheel motors, according to Renault
What Is the Renault E-Space Concept?
Renault describes E-Space Concept as its take on travel and family mobility in the electric era, built on its voitures à vivre (“cars for living”) philosophy. The “E” stands for E-Tech, Renault’s umbrella name for its electrified technology. “Space” refers to a large, high-tech interior.
At the front and rear, a wide U-shaped light strip traces the body’s outline. In the middle of the front end, an illuminated Renault diamond logo appears to float within a field of pixels. Renault says the concept reflects its futuREady strategic plan, which puts user needs and the in-car experience at the center of design.
LFP Batteries Roll Out Across the E-Tech Electric Range
Renault is gradually putting LFP battery technology into all of its electric passenger cars to improve the balance between price and range. Twingo and Megane come first, followed by Scenic and Renault 5 E-Tech electric, with Renault 4 E-Tech electric shortly after. The packs use a cell-to-pack design that the company says improves energy density and usable capacity.
| Model | LFP battery capacity |
|---|---|
| Twingo E-Tech electric | 27.5 kWh |
| Renault 5 E-Tech electric | 37 kWh |
| Megane E-Tech electric | 67 kWh |
| Scenic E-Tech electric | 67 kWh |
Like other Renault EVs, the LFP models come with Renault’s patented Fireman Access system, which lets firefighters quickly flood the battery cells with water during a fire.
New Megane E-Tech Electric
The updated Megane E-Tech electric gets new exterior styling and a 67 kWh LFP battery, which Renault rates at up to 310 miles (500 km) of range. DC fast-charging performance improves by 25%, according to the company, so the battery charges from 15% to 80% in 24 minutes. The update also adds a “Smart Mode” driving setting, Google’s Gemini AI assistant and new features in the OpenR Link with Google infotainment system. The EV Report covered the Megane’s 67 kWh battery update when it was first announced.
Gemini is reaching other Renault models with OpenR Link through over-the-air updates, so owners don’t need to visit a dealer to get it.
Twingo Gains the Twingobay Glass Roof
A few months after launch, Twingo E-Tech electric adds the Twingobay panoramic glass roof, which measures 7.5 square feet (0.7 m²). Renault says the multilayer glass filters 99.9% of UV rays and blocks most infrared radiation. A low-emissivity film manages heat, which lets the roof go without a sunshade, freeing up interior space and cutting weight. Twingo’s graphic alphabet is printed on the inside of the glass. In the UK, Renault plans to offer the roof in 2027, with pricing to be confirmed.
Performance Models and Concepts
The stand will also feature:
- Renault 5 Turbo 3E: An electric revival of the 1980s Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2, shown as an engineering prototype that Renault says closely previews the production model. Its two rear in-wheel motors make 555 hp and 3,540 lb-ft (4,800 Nm) of torque, according to the company. A second car in original colors will show the hyper-personalization options.
- Rafale hypnotic: A limited edition based on the top-spec Rafale E-Tech 4×4 300 hp Atelier Alpine hybrid.
- Renault 8 Gordini Concept: An all-electric two-seat coupe that reimagines the 1960s Renault 8 Gordini with rally-inspired proportions.
- Renault 4 JP4x4 Concept: First shown at the 2026 French Open tennis tournament at Roland-Garros, it revives the leisure-oriented Plein Air (1969) and JP4 (1981) versions of the Renault 4 and adds four-wheel drive.
Commercial Vehicles on the Renault Pro+ Stand
A separate Renault Pro+ stand, also in Hall 6, will show the Kangoo, Trafic and Master vans, along with Renault’s Uptimize business services and its Converted by Renault upfitting program. The lineup includes the new Trafic Van E-Tech electric, which recently won International Van of the Year 2027.
